Very interesting anecdote buried in the Marriott thread:
On the bright side(?) I just got off the phone with a rep and successfully upgraded my Marriott+ to the RC card. I wasn't able to manage that the past 5 times I called, so I'm not sure what changed.
I really regret missing the RC and this could be an appealing backdoor to getting it again. Has anyone else tried this?
