Caesars Rewards
Caesars Rewards has announced a number of measures for loyalty members due to COVID-19.
- 2020 tier status and benefits will be extended through January 31st, 2022
- Tier Status will be easier to earn for 2021:
- Platinum: Now 4,000 Tier Credits (was 5,000)
- Diamond: Now 12,000 Tier Credits (was 15,000)
- Diamond Plus: Now 20,000 Tier Credits (was 25,000)
- Diamond Elite: Now 60,000 Tier Credits (was 75,000)
- Seven Stars: Now 125,000 Tier Credits (was 150,000)
- Rewards credits will not expire for six months of inactivity until September 1st, 2020 (at the earliest)

British Airways
British Airways has announced that it will be adding an additional 12 months onto Executive Club membership (extending elite status for 12 months).
- This will apply to those with Tier Club collection end dates in July 2020 through June 2021
- This will be applied automatically, so there’s no need to contact British Airways; status extensions should be reflected in accounts within two weeks
In addition they are reducing the amount of tier points needed by 25%, the new tier requirements will be as follows:
- Bronze: 225 Tier Points or 18 eligible flights
- Silver: 450 Tier Points or 37 eligible flights
- Gold: 1125 Tier Points

Hawaiian Airlines
Hawaiian Airlines has sent out an e-mail to loyalty members announcing a number of measures due to COVID-19:
- Elite status will be extended through February 2022
- Requirements for earning elite status in 2020 will be reduced by half
- Credit card certificates (50% off, $100 off companion certificates) that are due to expire on or before August 2020 will be extended until December 31st, 2020

Membership Status:
- All members’ program status will be automatically extended through January 2022, allowing members to enjoy all the benefits of the status they earned during 2019.
- For Spire Elite members this includes the Choice benefit of 25,000 bonus points or gifting of Platinum Elite status to someone each year
- This change will be automatically reflected in member accounts in the coming weeks.
With more constrained travel plans and a shorter time period during which members can earn Elite tier status, we have reduced the criteria required (nights or points) this year by 25% or more meaning members can still qualify for a higher tier during 2020:
- Cancellation fees are waived for existing and new bookings at all IHG hotels globally for all stays before April 30th, 2020.
- Elite requirements will be reduced by 25% or more (see revised 2020 criteria)

- Status Extension: We want you to be able to enjoy the status that you earned in 2019. With that in mind, the status you earned in 2019 will be extended to February 2022.
- Points Expiration: To provide you ample time to redeem points, the expiration of points will be paused until February 2021. At that time, your points will only expire if your account has been inactive for at least 24 months.
- Suite Night Awards (SNAs): We have extended the expiration of suite night awards by one year from December 31, 2020 to December 31, 2021.

The terms of the Marriott Bonvoy Business Amex state the following now:
A maximum of 15 Elite Night Credits will be provided per Marriott Bonvoy Member Account, unless you have both a small business Marriott Bonvoy Card account and a consumer Marriott Bonvoy Card account; then, you may receive a combined maximum of 30 Elite Night Credits (15 per Card account). This benefit is not exclusive to Credit Cards offered by American Express.
That means that if you have a personal and small business Marriott card, you could now earn 30 elite nights per year.
Marriott now lets members earn up to 30 elite nights per year
I logged into my Marriott Bonvoy account this morning and noticed I had 33 elite nights. That surprised me, since the number should have only been 18:
- I received 15 elite nights through the Marriott credit card benefit at the beginning of the year
- I’ve earned three elite nights through actual stays

Alaska
Current status will be extended: Members with status in 2020 will have that status last through the end of 2021.
Trial status from elite challenges is being extended, too: Anyone who enrolled in an elite status challenge from December 1, 2019 through March 31, 2020 will have their trial elite status extended through the end of 2021. Wow.
Credit card companion certificates will be extended: any companion certificates expiring in 2020 will be extended to December 31, 2020, allowing travel to be ticketed through November 26, 2021.
There will be bonus mile opportunities for top elites: Alaska’s MVP Gold 75K members usually earn 50,000 bonus miles on achieving that tier. Having their 75K status extended won’t come with 50,000 additional bonus miles, but there will be information “in a few weeks” on “how 75K members can earn additional bonus miles for travel this year.”
There will be additional qualifying mile opportunities. Alaska doesn’t plan to reduce their qualifying thresholds, as United did. Instead they plan to offer “ways you can earn additional elite-qualifying miles this year.” It’s not clear whether those will be ‘double qualifying miles promotions’ (as they did already early in the crisis) or whether there will be qualifying mile opportunities for things other than flying (as Air Canada is offering).

United has announced a number of extension measures:
- Elite status will be extended by 12 months (e.g status expiring 1/31/21 will now expire 1/31/22)
- United Club memberships will be extended by 6 months
- United will reduced the PQP requirements to earn premier status next year
Update 4/5/20: United has made it’s official announcement. Additional details:
- PQP requirements have been reduced by 50% for each status level
- Maximum PQP for United Explorer cards has been doubled, PQP for United Club cards has been quadrupled
- PlusPoints are being extended for six months for any that are set to expire on or before January 31st, 2021
- Travel certificates are now valid for 24 months (request a refund instead for cancelled flights)
- Award redeposit fees for travel through May 2020 are being waived
- Award redeposit fees for award tickets cancelled 30 days before departure are being waived for the rest of 2020
- It will be easier to earn status in 2021 for 2022 (more details to come)

Delta has announced the following:
- Medallion status will be extended through 2021 and will now expire in early 2022 (previously due to expire in early 2021)
- Medallion Qualification Miles earned in 2020 will be rolled over to 2021 for earning status in 2022
- Delta Sky Club Individual and Executive memberships that expire March 1st, 2020 or later will be extended for six months
- American Express benefits that expire March 1st, 2020 or later will be extended:
- Delta SkyMiles Gold Card Members with a $100 Delta flight credit will get a six-month extension beyond their current expiration date.
- Delta SkyMiles Platinum Card Members with Companion Certificates with an original expiration date between March 1 and June 30, 2020, can use them when they book and fly by Dec. 31, 2020, and those that expire between July 1, 2020, and April 1, 2021, will receive an additional six months beyond the current expiration date.
- Delta SkyMiles Reserve Card Members with Companion Certificates with an original expiration date between March 1 and June 30, 2020, can use them when they book and fly by Dec. 31, 2020, and those that expire between July 1, 2020, and April 1, 2021, will receive an additional six months beyond the current expiration date.
- Delta SkyMiles Reserve Card Members will also get a six-month extension to use their Delta Sky Club One-Time Guest Passes beyond their current expiration date.

2019 Status Extension. All members whose 2019 status was scheduled to be downgraded on March 31, 2020—whether it’s Diamond, Gold or Silver—will automatically receive an extension through March 31, 2021.
2020 Status Extension. We are extending your 2020 member status through March 31, 2022. This means you will continue to enjoy all the Diamond, Gold or Silver benefits you have access to today for the next 24 months.
Points Extension. We will pause the expiration of all Points scheduled to expire between now and December 31, 2020.
Weekend Night Rewards Earned on Eligible Hilton Credit Cards. We have extended the expiration date of all unexpired Weekend Night Rewards as of March 11, 2020, and all new ones issued until August 30, 2020, through the end of next summer (August 31, 2021).
