The super hot deal—the Sapphire Preferred Card 100,000 offer—ends this week.
According to information from English-speaking bloggers, This Thursday, July 30, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time, At 9 a.m. I heard the link is going to be taken down.
Since this Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card offer is the best one ever, I don't think I need to go over the details again.
I’d like to briefly summarize the three most important things you need to know about credit card application requirements as a reminder.
Table of Contents
1. bonuses are awarded once ‘for life'
This is the most important—and also the most heartbreaking—part. T_T
It states that you can only receive the new card sign-up bonus once in your ‘lifetime.'.
According to the current offer terms and conditions, “This credit card is not available to you if you currently have this card active. The new cardmember bonus may not be available to you.” if you previously held this card or received a new cardmember bonus for this card.It says, ”.”.
- Not only do they currently hold the card, but
- If you have ever held a Sharp Card, or
- If you have a record of receiving the Sharp Card new member bonus,
So, this means you might not be able to receive the new member bonus for the Sharp Card again.
These terms and conditions have been in effect since last June.
Previously, the terms and conditions stated, ‘You can receive a new sign-up bonus 48 months after receiving your last one.” Therefore, compared to the previous terms, the current policy represents a significant deterioration for members who have been accumulating miles for a long time.
Of course, the wording in the terms and conditions says “may not be available” rather than “will not be available.” In fact, I understand that some former Sharp Cardholders have been reapproved and received bonuses in the past. This means there are exceptions. I’ve also heard that after seven years, you’re considered a new member.
However, it is currently unclear under what circumstances exceptions apply. Therefore, I absolutely cannot recommend that you just try it without further consideration.
One good thing is that if you’re not eligible for the bonus when applying for a card, a pop-up will appear stating that you’re not eligible. So, if you’re on the fence, it might be worth giving it a try just to see what happens.
2. You can hold both Sharp and Sari at the same time
The second condition is This means it is possible to hold both the Sharp Card and the Sapphire Card (Chase Sapphire Reserve®) at the same time..
Under the terms and conditions in effect prior to June of last year, customers were allowed to hold only one Sapphire-series card.
Therefore,
- When I already had a Sapphire-series card—the Sapph—it was impossible to receive another Sapphire-series card, the Sari.
- Conversely, it was also impossible to draw a new Saf card while holding a Sari card.
The point is, I had to choose just one of the two.
With the update to these rules last year, it is now possible to hold both cards at the same time.
Therefore, if you currently hold a Sari Card but would like to receive the Sharp Card bonus, you can apply for the Sharp Card without canceling your Sari Card.
However, for those of you who recently received the Sari Card offer earlier this year, adding the Sharp Card right away would be a hasty decision. As Bocho always emphasizes on the forum, it’s best to remember that it’s safer to wait at least four months between applying for Chase cards.
3. The May 24 regulation remains in effect
Finally, please note that the May 24 regulation remains in effect.
I'm sure you're all aware of 5/24, but here's a quick refresher.
The 5/24 rule is a stipulation that most Chase cards are nearly impossible to get if you have more than five cards in the last 24 months when you apply for a Chase card.
While this may seem like a straightforward rule, it can be misleading, because there are two things conflated within this 5/24 rule.
1) First of all, there's the part that applies when you apply for the card. When you apply for a Chase card, one part is to make sure you have at least 5 cards in the last 2 years at that point.
2) Then there's the post-issuance part. Once a card is approved, does it count towards the 5/24 count?
When we say that the May 24 deadline applies to Sharp Card applications, this refers to item 1), which is the relevant regulation for card applications.
In other words, if you have applied for many cards over the past 24 months, your application for a Sharp Card may not be approved, even if this is your first time applying.
Let's wrap up today's post.
Whenever I see a credit card offer pop up, I usually advise people to think it over carefully.
It’s just a shame that you can’t receive the Sharp 100,000 offer again, but for first-time applicants, this offer shouldn’t pose any problems.
100,000 UR points are worth $1,000 even when redeemed for cashSince you get that, even after factoring in the annual fee, it’s still a good deal that nets you at least $1,490.

Thank you for the reminder.
Since it seemed like my kids had accumulated some credit anyway, I gave them my referral link and told them to sign up.
I applied over the weekend, and both were approved. Just as you said, it seems like the perfect way to get started with UR.
It’s been over seven years since I canceled my SAF membership, so I tried applying again, but it says I’m not eligible for the bonus. T_T I’m so disappointed...
It feels like it's been about 10 years since SAF was abolished, but it says I won't be getting a bonus...
I used to hear that if you hadn’t received a Sapphire “series” bonus in the past 48 gallons, you wouldn’t be eligible for the bonus. However, it seems to say that even if you received a bonus through Sari (not Sapphire) within the last 48 gallons, you’re still eligible as long as you’ve never opened a Sapphire account. Is my understanding correct?
