Saree cards issued by Chase (Chase Sapphire Reserve®) has launched a limited-time offer.
You'll get 150,000 UR points for spending $6,000 in 3 months. This is the highest level ever for public, non-targeted offers.
In today's post,
- Offer Basic History
- A full complement of benefits
- Good to know, but ambiguous benefits
- Great perks for big spenders
- Card application eligibility requirements
and more to break it down.
Table of Contents
1. Offer Basic History
The basics of this offer are
- 6,000 for 3 months
- Chase's own points, the Receive 150,000 UR points.
When the card was updated last year, the bonus it offered was UR 100,000 + a one-time $500 Chase Travel℠ promo credit to use on Chase Travel℠, Chase's own travel booking portal.
Considering that the utilization of 50,000 UR points is much better than a one-time $500 discount coupon, it's worth considering that Signup bonuses are at an all-time highfor example.
Mileage redemptions have gone up so much lately that points are now worth X amount. Miles are still valuable, especially now that oil prices have driven up ticket prices.
I can transfer UR points to United miles.
I can get a business ticket from San Francisco to Seattle to Incheon for 100,000 miles right now (only the Seattle-Incheon leg is business, the domestic leg is economy), although there are restrictions that seats don't open up until closer to departure and you have to have a UA partner card to get the discount.
I'm not being facetious.
For the Sari card, the annual fee is $795 for the first year.
It seems like a lot, but the $300 travel credit is readily available to everyone, so the actual annual fee is $495.
With the addition of the $250 hotel perk since its launch last year, and the softening of the terms for redeeming The Edit $500 credit, I'd say it's safe to say that the annual fee is now more than offset.
Let me break it down for you.
| Chase Sapphire Reserve (Sari): Personal, business card | |
|---|---|
| Personal cards | Chase Sapphire Reserve® Highest bonus ever: 150,000 points after spending $6,000 in the first 3 months of card issuance |
| Business cards | Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ 150,000 points after spending $20,000 in 3 months |
2. sufficiently available benefits
Among the many benefits of the Sari Card, there are three that can really play a role in lowering your annual fee (in my opinion).
1) $300 annual travel credit
First up is the $300 travel credit, which is a survivor from a previous offer.
The idea is that you automatically get up to $300 in credit each year (on your anniversary) when you pay for travel-eligible expenses like hotels, flights, rental cars, tolls, etc. with this card, with no strings attached (like using specific sites).
This benefit is so easy to redeem, you could argue that it actually lowers the effective annual fee to $$495.
2) $500 credit for stays with The EditSM
The second is The EditSM This is a benefit tied to the hotel program and was introduced last year with the card update.
The EditSM is a hotel program that's kind of like the Chase version of Amex's Fine Hotels & Resorts.
- When you book through the Chase site
- This program offers free breakfast for two, a $$100 hotel credit, upgrades, late checkout, and more.
Here's a statement credit benefit that's exclusive to Sari Card members.
- Use the Sari card to create a
- The Edit Hotel 2 or more nights at a prepaid rate (pre-paid “Pay Now” stays) When you make a reservation
- Up to $250 credit at a time per booking, per
- You can receive a maximum of two statement credits per calendar year (=maximum of $$500).
The 2+ night requirement is a bit of a bummer compared to the Amex FHR credit, which starts at 1 night.
Still, compared to last year, it's a huge improvement.
Last year, it was similar to Amex, where you split the year into first half and second half and get up to $250 for each half, so there were times when you were forced to split your trip in two, but now it's easier.
- For example, if you're traveling once a year and need a total of 4 nights, you can now book 2 nights and 2 nights in a row.
- If you're traveling with your family and need two rooms, you can now book two reservations at the same time and resolve the $250 and $500 credits at once.
3) $250 credit for Select Hotels through Chase Travel
In 2026, there's another added benefit (we'll have to wait and see if it carries over into 2027).
- Through Chase Travel
- Hotels of a specific brand, i.e. IHG Hotels & Resorts, Montage Hotels & Resorts, and Pendry Hotels & Resorts, Omni Hotels & Resorts, Virgin Hotels, Minor Hotels, and Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts.
- For pre-paid “Pay Now” stays of 2 nights or more
- You can receive a maximum credit of $250.
I'm sure you've been to a lot of IHG hotels, so this is a great perk.
Reviews on message boardsThere are some cases where The Edit $250 credit and certain hotels $250 credit can be applied at the same time, allowing for double dipping (at your own risk).
For example, InterContinental Seoul COEX Parnas Hotelwhich is part of the IHG family and also affiliated with The Edit.
I searched for 2 nights this summer and found $374 for 1 night and $886 for 2 nights total.
But if you get The Edit $250 credit for 2 nights or more, and another $250 specific hotel booking credit, you'll get a total discount of $500, which brings the cost of your stay down to $386.
Add to that the $ $100 credit from The Edit and the daily breakfast, and I'd say the actual cost of the stay drops to almost $100 (of course, I'm paying an annual fee, so I'd say it's a triple whammy ;))
To summarize
- $$300 travel item credit
- $500$ The Edit
- $$250 Specific Hotel Credit
If you can find and eat all three of these major credits, you're looking at $1,050, which covers the annual fee of $1,495, and you'll get even more benefits beyond the annual fee.
3. Nice to have, but ambiguous benefits
The following benefits are great if you use them well,
- Benefits that you can't use if you don't live in your neighborhood ($300 dining credit)
- Heavily personalized perks (Apple TV+, Apple Music, Peloton)
- Benefits that require a lot of effort each month to find and eat (DoorDash; Lyft)
and more, organized in a table.
These benefits are so region-specific that if you're a typical cardmember, you'll probably feel more comfortable assuming they don't exist outside of Apple TV+ and Apple Music.
Of course, if you can find and use each and every one of them, you can further lower your annual fee.
| Benefits | Maximum amount per year | Details | Caveats | Remarks (new offer effective 10/26/25 for existing members) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Apple TV+ and Apple Music subscriptions | $250 | Apple TV+, Apple Music subscription benefits | Offer valid 6/22/2027 | New |
| dining credit | $300 | 150 semi-annually for dining at restaurants on Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables | Focused on large cities | New |
| DashPass Membership | $120 | DashPass membership | Must be activated by 12/31/2027 | Existing benefits |
| DoorDash promos | $300 | Up to $25 per month, with $5 for restaurants and two $10 payments valid for groceries, retail orders, etc. | Valid through 12/31/2027 | Existing benefits |
| StubHub credits | $300 | $150 semi-annual for StubHub, viagogo purchases | Until 12/31/2027. Activation required | New |
| Lyft credits | $120 | 10 per month | Valid through 9/30/2027 | Existing benefits |
| Peloton credits | $120 | 10 monthly credit if you have a Peloton membership | Valid through 12/31/2027. Activation required. | New |
4. great for big spenders
The trend with cards these days is to prioritize big spenders.
This trend is clearly reflected in the Sari card revamp.
That is, the benefits you get if you spend more than $75,000 a year on a calendar year basis are decent.
I think it's a good deal if you're a big spender and can squeeze it all onto one card.
| Benefits | Maximum amount per year | Details | Caveats |
|---|---|---|---|
| IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite Status | IHG Top Rated. Free breakfast perks | Valid for the remainder of the year after spending $75,000 + the following year | |
| Southwest Airlines A-list status | Elite status on Southwest Airlines | Valid for the remainder of the year after achievement + 1 year thereafter | |
| Credit for The Shops at Chase | $250 | Get $250 in statement credit when you use your card at Chase's own online stores | Must be used within the year of achievement + one year following the year of achievement. |
| Southwest Airlines Chase Travel credit | $500 | Up to $500 statement credit when you purchase a Southwest ticket from Chase Travel. | Must be used within the year of achievement + one year following the year of achievement. |
5. Nice extras
The Sapphire Preferred is Chase's premium card, so it comes with all the perks you'd expect from a premium card.
Just to list a few,
- Access to Chase's own lounge, the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club (up to 2 guests get in free)
- Your Priority Pass™ Select membership gives you access to the lounge.
- Access to certain Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges and Air Canada Cafés when traveling with Star Alliance partners.
- Global Entry or TSA PreCheck up to $$120 once every 4 years® Or you can get a credit toward your NEXUS application fee.
- Extended warranty, return protection, etc. are standard benefits (be sure to check the terms for details).
Plus, since it's a Visa card, I have no problem using it for Costco!
6. Eligibility requirements to apply for the card
Finally, there are eligibility requirements to apply for the card.
This is important.
1) Remove concurrent ownership restrictions
First, we've removed the restriction on simultaneous Sapphire card holdings.
Previously, if you had the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, you couldn't have the Sapphire Card, so you had to give up one of the two cards.
With this rule change, the You can have a Sharp card and a Sari card at the same timeIt's gone.
The terms just say, “This credit card is unavailable to you if you currently have one open.”.
2) Introduce a ‘once in a lifetime' rule
The old 48-month rule was long, but it means Chase has officially opened the door to new sign-up bonuses.
That door was closed this time around with the introduction of the "once in a lifetime" rule.
In the terms and conditions, it says "The new cardmember bonus may not be available to you if you previously held this card or received a new cardmember bonus for this card.”.
It says that those who have had a Sari card in the past or received a signup bonus may not be eligible for the new member bonus.
The wording used is "may not be available" rather than "are not available," which leaves some wiggle room, but we'll have to wait and see if existing Sari cardholders or those who previously received the signup bonus will receive a new one.
To summarize,
- If you've never had a Sari card before, you'll be able to apply right away..
- If you've had a Sari card before, you'll have to wait and see if it pops up.
5/24 is an unofficial rule, so it's not listed in the terms, but it's safe to assume it applies.
Let's wrap up today's post.
Last year's Sari Card overhaul came with the introduction of a “once in a lifetime” rule, which was a bummer for existing members.
However, it seems like the chase has been planted since then.
I have to say that it's definitely a good development that The Edit has introduced a number of benefits to offset the annual fee, such as relaxing the credit constraints and introducing a $250 credit for certain hotels.
If you've never had a Sari card before, we encourage you to apply during the promotion.

Thanks for the neat organization. I'm new to CSP, so I'll have to bear with you this time, but I have a question. In the example of using UA miles above, I see UA cardmember SAVE 60%, but isn't UA a fixed percentage like DL 15%? If the discount rate varies depending on supply and demand, then the Chase UA card is a must.
Hello Milemoa
Thanks for the post.
Is it still possible to sign up for the subscription mailing list?
Thanks for the great article. I was thinking of waiting until Agol 100,000, but it looks like I can use this opportunity to buy a sari.
I used your link and got the app, and it worked as you said, even though I have a sap. Thank you!
What happens if I apply for the card and get 150,000 and then cancel the card after a year? The benefits are great, but I don't travel much, so it's a bit confusing. Is there a requirement to keep the card for a certain amount of time once I get the benefits?
I have a Business Sapphire Reserve in my husband's name, and I have a Business Sapphire Reserve in my name, and I use itMy husband has a Business Sapphire Reserve in my name, and I use itMy husband has a Business Sapphire Reserve in my name, and I have to pay it in full next month, but not my personal Sapphire Reserve?
So I'm going to close the business and consider taking it back.
Is it a good idea to close after 2 years?
I have two questions.
1. I currently have a Sari card that is about 10 years old, is the only way to find out if I can get the signup bonus is to apply 4-5 days after the downgrade? If I do that and it says I'm not eligible for the signup bonus, will I have to pay again to upgrade to the original Sari card? I'm curious.
2. my wife has a sapph card and it's 2 years old, can she get rid of it and get the new sari card and still get the signup bonus? I was wondering if we are subject to the 48 month rule and have to wait another 2 years.
I'm wondering how long this offer will be open.
I have Sharp for 3 years and Amex flat for 1 year, is it okay to sell Sharp and Amex and open Sari? 아멕 플랫 어찌할지...
I have a few questions.
1. How long will this deal last
2. If I open this card, transfer the points to Sharp, and close it a year later, will the points I earn from this card get 1.5x on Chase Travel?
3. click The Edit hotel list.
Thank you.

As always, thanks for the great intro and pros/cons explanation!
I was approved for Ink Biz Preferred a few days ago with a 4/24 status, would it be okay if I wait a month to apply to run the CSR as well?
I made 4 cards from late last year to recently, and I was wondering what to do with the last one...
I just happened to see the Shari promotion, but my FICO came out to about 680, so I wondered if it would be... but I tried to apply once regardless of whether it was inlaid or not, but it was inlaid and the digital card was issued immediately.^^;;;;;
Once this happened... I'll have to run for a year or so.
I took that sari down to a saffron earlier this year and flexed it open, and it turned into a sari mermaid?! I didn't think so, but it feels so good. I feel like I won the lottery...
For reference, 7 years old, Saff+ Ritz Carlton+ Flex+ Main checking>20. FICO>800. 12/25 City Strata+ 4/26 Delta Flat - Reserve upgrade. Always helped me out with wear and tear, thanks. Leave me a DP~~.
Oh... I'm not getting this because I've had a sari for almost a decade without realizing it, what a bummer deal.
I applied on April 30th and got an email right away saying they would review it, then nothing. .
What should I do if this happens? Is it a reject? Or should I wait a bit longer?
