=====
The Delta cards issued by Amex are under promotion.
All three personal cards and all three business cards have updated offers, and you can get up to 110,000 miles as a welcome bonus.
Of the many card options, the Personal Gold Card is the one I'd highly recommend as a solid first Amex card.
This card (Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card) is,
- Annual fee for the first year $0 ($150 starting in the second year)
- Save 15% When You Redeem Delta Miles
- The welcome bonus of 80,000 miles after 6 months of $3000 spend is like $800 cash for a ticket on Delta's site.
- 100 credit for hotel bookings on Delta's site (calculated per calendar year, so I think you can get it twice)
- $200 Delta credit when you spend $10,000 (in calendar year) (subject to redemption within one year of receiving credit)
So if you spend $10,000 over the course of a year, you can find at least $1,100 worth of value, and even if you don't spend $10,000 and don't get the last $200, you can easily find $900 worth of value.
In today's post, I'll summarize the above in more detail and explain what to look out for.
Table of Contents
1. annual fee of $0 for the first year, $150 for the second year onwards
Amex Personal Delta Gold Cardhas great benefits, starting with the annual fee.
There's a lot of psychological resistance to cards with high annual fees.
This card has a $0 introductory Annual Fee for the first year, then $150 for the second year ("Enjoy a $0 introductory Annual Fee for the first year, then $150.")
Considering the annual fee was $$99 before the update early last year, that's a $50 increase, but as I'll explain later, the new $100 hotel booking credit more than makes up for it.
You also have the option to downgrade to the annual fee-free version in the second year after a year of use, so the annual fee itself shouldn't be too much of an issue (though I'd recommend keeping your Amex card as long as possible).
2. 15% discount on Delta flight tickets with miles
Amex Delta Partnership cardholders with Gold status or higher are eligible for the 15% mileage redemption discount.
The discount is only available on full Delta flights, not on tickets on Korean Air or any other partner airline.
15% discount It may not seem like much, but it's a lot of money for a single ticket, especially on Delta, which is over 100,000 miles per ticket.
For example, the July 16 Incheon-Seattle Delta One (Business) one-way mileage redemption is 130,000 miles for non-cardholders, which in itself is a pretty good deal, but...
If you're a cardmember, you'll only pay 110,500 miles with the 15% discount here. That's a discount of 19,500 miles.
3. 80,000 welcome bonus
But it's all about the welcome bonus, right?
During the promotion, which runs through July 16, the 80,000 miles welcome bonus after spending $3,000 in 6 monthsin the file.
The $3,000 spending requirement is a good deal compared to other cards that cost $4-5,000 these days, and the 6-month introductory period instead of the usual 3 months is also a good deal.
So the question is, how much are 80,000 miles worth?
Delta miles have been so heavily redemption inflated that 80,000 miles won't even get you a one-way ticket to South Korea in peak season.
However, that doesn't mean you can't redeem miles at all.
1) Korea-Japan, 7,500 miles one way
First, for a Korea-Japan route like Gimpo-Haneda, you can fly Korean Air economy one-way for 7,500 miles and business one-way for 15,000 miles, which is a pretty good deal.
Delta's third-party ticketing is free, so it's perfect for ticketing family back home.
2) Short-haul international flights
In the U.S., a nearby international flight like Atlanta to Cancun is a good option.
As you can see in the image below, there are a number of days when you can get a nonstop one-way ticket for 11,000 miles each way, including the Cardmember 15% discount (although the mileage redemption will vary depending on the time of year).
3) Ticketing Delta One (Business) during the promotion period
In Delta's business class, Delta One, the usual redemption value for a one-way US-Korea flight is in the 300,000-400,000 mile range. In other words, it's a no-brainer, don't even dream about it.
Interestingly, for the past year or two, we've been running a surprise discount promotion during the peak summer season. Ongoing now. For example, US-Korea in the summer, July-August, 300,000, 400,000 should be routine, depending on the region, but we're releasing seats from around 130,000 miles each way.
In the case of the Incheon-Seattle flight I showed earlier, July 16 is peak season, and the cash purchase price is over $300,000 each way, so being able to get a business ticket for 110,000 miles is a steal.
Delta miles are good for something.
4) Use like cash on Delta sites
Delta Miles have one last option.
The idea is to use miles like cash for Delta ticketing.
If you look at the image below, it says Pay with Miles Eligible below the ticket price, right?
This A feature called Pay with Milesis a feature that lets you literally use Delta miles like cash.
It's only available to Delta Gold, Platinum, and Reserve cardmembers, and miles can be redeemed for tickets starting at a minimum of 5,000 miles = $50.
80,000 miles is worth at least $800 in Delta ticket purchasesin the end.
4. $100 credit for prepaid hotel and vacation rental bookings on the Delta site
This is the most important new benefit that was added when the card benefits were updated last year.
Travel booking sites affiliated with Deltais a $100 credit per calendar year when you use your Delta Gold Card to book and pay for a hotel or vacation rental at a prepaid rate.
If you do a search, it seems like all the hotels with paid reservations are listed.
In my personal experience, I've had credits come through immediately after hotel bookings with no issues.
Also, as we mentioned earlier, the criteria is based on calendar year, not membership year, so if you create a card now, it's possible to get two rewards, one in 2025 and one in early 2026 (at your own risk, of course).
5. $200 Delta credit when you spend $10,000 in one year (must be redeemed within one year of receiving credit)
Finally, we have the Delta Flight Credit $200 offer.
It's not a new offer, it's been around for a while, and it didn't mean much before because it was spend $10,000 and get $100, but now it's been bumped up to $200, so it's a pretty good offer.
If you spend $10,000, you're getting $200 in Delta credit (albeit Delta credit) in addition to the miles you're earning, so roughly speaking, you're getting an extra 2%.
Of course,
- After the $3,000 bonus, you'll have to spend an additional $7,000, which if you're not a big spender, might be better spent on another card to fill your spending gap.
- Also, the $200 credit is issued in the form of a Delta eCredit, which can only be used to purchase Delta tickets and has an expiration date of 1 year after issuance. If you don't plan on flying Delta within a year, this may not be the best deal for you, so be aware of that.
Let's summarize the basic features.
Let's talk about some of the downsides.
1. the miles you earn are Delta miles;;
This card is a Delta partner card, which means that the miles you spend each month are automatically transferred to your Delta account each month.
Delta has five nonstop routes to South Korea: Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, Seattle, and Salt Lake, making it a great place to fly to if you have good Delta mileage redemptions.
However, it's worth noting that during non-sale periods, the mileage redemption price is much higher, so this may not be a good option if you're looking to fly to Korea, and of course you can't transfer or convert miles to other airlines.
2. If you previously created a personal Delta Platinum or Delta Reserve card, the Welcome Bonus is not available.
Previously, Delta cards were considered separate products and could be held concurrently and each card could be created once.
This was until September 2023, when the so-called "family" rule was introduced for personal cards, complicating the rules.
The rule says that if you've created a higher-tier card with a higher annual fee, you'll be able to open a lower-tier card, but you won't get the welcome bonus.
That is,
- The Personal Gold Card is not eligible for the bonus if you have ever opened a Personal Platinum or Personal Reserve Card. ("You may not be eligible to receive a welcome offer if you have or have had this Card, the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card, the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card or previous versions of these Cards.")
- Personal Platinum will not receive the bonus if you've ever created a Personal Reserve card.
Therefore, If you're new to creating a Delta Personal Card Personal Gold CardYou'll need to build them one at a time.
It's important to remember that
Note that this family card rule only applies to personal cards. There are no such rules for business cards, so if you're wondering if you're eligible for a personal card, you might want to look into the business card side of the equation.
The business card is also currently on promotion, so the offers are good.

3. Pay attention to the flippers on your Amex card.
With Amex cards, sometimes you don't get the welcome bonus even after you've been approved for the card. If you look at the terms and conditions, it says it'll pop up and let you know in advance, but I've read on message boards that it's not always 100%.
So it's a good idea to keep this in mind and be careful.
Below is the text of those terms.
".... You also may not be eligible to receive a welcome offer based on various factors, such as your history with credit card balance transfers, your history as an American Express Card Member, the number of credit cards that you have opened and closed and other factors. If you are not eligible for a welcome offer, we will notify you prior to processing your application so you have the option to withdraw your application."
Let's wrap up today's post.
Considering the absolute value of the welcome bonus, I think the Delta Personal Gold Card is a decent offer.
However, it's not the right choice for everyone, so it's best to do your research before making a decision.

95 Comments. Leave new
hello. Thanks for the great articles. I have one question, I opened the Amex Gold around June last year and have been using it well, but last month I got the Chase Sharp 100k offer and am using it. I'm a one-person household and don't spend a lot on credit cards, so I'm using the Chase Sharp as my main card and Amex Gold has a pretty high annual fee. I'm wondering if it's possible to downgrade to the Amex Delta and if the 0 annual fee for the first year and 80,000 miles offer would still apply in that case? Oh, and if you could let me know when the signup is available, I'd love to apply. thanks
1. You can only downgrade/upgrade card products within the same "family". In the case of the Amex Gold Card, which earns Amex's own MR points, you can downgrade to the Green Card and upgrade to the Platinum Card, but you can't downgrade/upgrade/product convert to the Delta Card, which is a completely different "family".
2. with Amex, there are some offers that give bonus points for product upgrades (for example, a certain number of points for upgrading a no-annual-fee Hilton card to a Hilton Passport card), but these are usually targeted offers, and card upgrades generally don't have a welcome bonus, meaning the welcome bonus is basically only for new applications.
3. added.
Hi, thanks for the great articles as always!
As a follow up to the above post, if I currently have the Amex Gold card, can I apply for the Amex Delta Gold if I've never applied before?
Oh, and an additional signup reminder would be appreciated!
Yes. I know they are different cards, so as long as you don't get the Amex popup when you apply for the card, you should be fine.

I checked with chat and found that it was created in 2020, welcomed, and canceled, but when I tried to apply this time, it said You're approved, Jamie! Accept your Card and offer below.
Your Welcome Offer Is
Limited Time Offer
Earn 80,000 Bonus Miles
after spending $3,000 in purchases on your new Card in the first 6 months of Card Membership. Offer expires 7/16/2025.†
There has been no impact to your credit score up to this point.
If you choose to accept the Card, the information we provide to credit bureau(s) may impact your credit score.
If no action is taken: There is no credit score impact. and it says accept card, is it possible to get another welcome? If no action is taken: Credit score impact. The agent said to screenshot it, but it's a long process.
There are stories of records being reset after roughly 7 years, but this is a bit of a gray area, so you'll have to take it at your own risk.
I've been in the US for a little over 5 years and I've never had a Delta card in the past, but when I applied, they discriminated against me by saying they don't give welcome offers.... In the past, I had to get the Gold because Amex Silver doesn't give a welcome offer... Sad.
I'm sorry you're upset.
I think it's been over 1-2 years (?) since I applied for the membership waiting list, but I haven't heard from you yet. lol Maybe there was a mistake somewhere along the way, so I would be grateful if you could put me back on the waiting list. Thank you.
I was placed on the notification list at the end of 2024. I haven't contacted you since joining in early 2024 because I haven't made any plans to join yet, but I'll get back to you as soon as I do.
Ah, I see... One day feels like a millennium...., so I guess I thought it was two years ^^; lol I look forward to hearing good news soon.
Yes. We'll reach out to you as soon as we have an announcement. We apologize for the long wait.
Hi! Thank you so much for the great information every time.
Please advise if it is okay to open a new card in my situation.
RBC Card: August 2024 (soon to be canceled)
Amex Gold: October 2024
Amex Hilton: November 2024
Capital One Secured: January 2025 (briefly opened because it required a Visa/Mastercard, now closed)
Chase Sapphire Preferred: April 2025 (sign-up bonus already achieved)
I currently have these, and I'm wondering if it's okay to open a new Amex Delta Gold now.
Or should I stick with my existing cards for now and pursue other Chase cards later?
Also, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to downgrade the Amex Gold and Sapphire Preferred after a year.
Please advise!
1. if you know you need Delta miles for your travel plans, it's probably a good idea to do it during the promotion, but if you think other Chase cards might be better, you can wait.
2. If you don't receive a separate retention offer, I know a lot of people downgrade.
아 ㅠㅠ 전 보름 전에 만들어 신청해서 5만 사인업 받는는 골드카드인데 8만 사인업 해달라고 하면 해줄까뇨? 좀 억울해서요. ^^;
Unlike Chase, Amex is notorious for not matching very well lol
hello,
I currently have the Chase Freedom Unlimited and Sapphire Preferred (signed up for them during the last 100k bonus offer).
I'm about to open my first Amex after opening two Chase credit cards, and this post came at the perfect time.
I'm currently debating between the Amex Hilton and Delta Gold, will I be penalized later if I convert the Delta Gold to a no annual fee card in my second year? I'm a student, so the annual fee is a bit of a burden...
If you could give me some advice in this area, I would really appreciate it.
And is it possible to get on the waiting list to sign up? Thank you.
1. It is my understanding that there is no direct penalty for completing the full year as per the terms. However, you may be worried about whether it will affect the pop-ups in the future, but no one knows the pop-up variables, so I think you should take this into account.
2. added.
I opened the Delta Gold last year at the 70k offer based on your recommendation for my first Amex card, and was able to successfully ticket miles for my first family trip. I just recently got billed for the annual fee and got the $1000/3 months 10000 mile retention offer, so I've been putting it to good use (I'm not a member yet, so I can't leave retention DPs on the board). Thanks for the great information you always provide, and please add me to your signup alerts.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
Added.
I just got approved with your link, could it be NLL? I've made delta gold in the past and I've captured the message above like a storyline. Thanks as always
Congratulations on the approval and thanks for the link.
I know it's not an NLL link. We hope you enjoy your welcome bonus.
I'm a newbie in the US for a year, so I was worried about what credit card to use, but I'll have to try this one out! And if you have time, please let me know when I can sign up for the card, I'd appreciate it!
Added.
Thanks for the info! I came to the US and after reading your posts, I applied for the Sharp as my first card and have been applying for this card and that card without knowing anything since then, waiting for my credit score to improve for a while. Now I'm looking for a third card (after the Sharp and Amazon) but I'm not sure if it's appropriate. I think I'll have to try Delta to decide since it's Delta miles and not MRs.
I'm going to be flying domestic in the US a lot for work, but I've seen a lot of bad reviews about the service. Delta should be okay, right?
Oh, and can I be notified when you become available? Thank you.
1. among the major U.S. airlines, Delta is still the best in terms of performance, service, etc.
2. added.
I usually fly Delta a lot, so I'm thinking of having this card, but unfortunately, there is no lounge access lol VentureX PP is limited to lounge use, so I thought I'd try to use Delta lounges or other lounges on this occasion, but there are no lounges. Thank you for the good information!
If your main goal is to access Delta lounges, you may want to look into the Reserve Card (Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card) or the Amex Standard Flat Card. The Reserve Card gives you 15 Delta lounge accesses per year (from 2/1 to 1/31 of the following year), while the Amex Standard Flat Card gives you 10.
I'm still a non-member who checks MileMoa every day. ^^ I got the 100k Sapphire bonus offer last time and booked a ticket to Korea this summer at a ridiculous price, so I just wanted to say thanks for another great offer.
We're glad to hear that your ticket to South Korea went well.
Thank you for your comment.
If possible, I would also appreciate being notified when membership is available.
Added.
I got the offer about a month ago for 80k miles + 6 months of $2000 spending, but the 80k offer just popped up again. Maybe I got lucky last time and it was just for a short time, lol. Anyway, this offer is great and I got the P2. I don't have a long credit history, so I was lucky to get approved. Thank you, and if you could add me to the list when you can, I'd appreciate it! Keep up the good work.
Congratulations on your approval.

I was able to get an additional card (college kids) thanks to MamoLink and it went well. I didn't take a picture of the instructions when I got the card, so I can't find it now. I'm going to take two of these college kids on a trip, and I want to buy plane tickets for three people with my card, and each of them will get a free 1st check-in bag as a cardmember benefit?
1. Congratulations on becoming a mermaid. We hope you enjoy your welcome bonus.
2. the terms and conditions for the suitcase read as follows "Benefit is limited to Basic Card Members (not Additional Card Members) with the Delta SkyMiles® Gold, Delta SkyMiles® Platinum, or Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card. Reservation must include the Basic Card Member's SkyMiles number. Fee waiver also available for passengers traveling on the same reservation as the Basic Card Member. Maximum nine waivers per reservation."
This means that if you're the primary cardholder and you enter your membership number when booking your flight, and both of your children's bookings are also bundled under the same booking number, they'll each get their first bag free.
I made Gold before and downgraded to Blue
I did, but just in case, I reapplied and the offer came up and I was immediately accepted. Thank you.
Congratulations on your approval. We hope you enjoy your welcome bonus.
Hi thanks for the great information:)
Maybe you're planning a trip right now, and you can meet the spend requirement right away and get your signup bonus that month?
With Amex, the bonus came through within a few days of meeting the spending requirements, but I don't know if that's the case with the Delta card.
My guess is that you'll receive your invoice no later than a few days after the month you've met your spending (although the terms say it could be later).
Thanks for the great information, I always appreciate it.
Would it be possible for me to be notified the next time you sign up?
Thank you!

Hi, Milemoa.
Thank you so much for always sharing such great information.
This time, I applied through the link for the Milemoa Delta Gold Card and was approved in less than a second!
Milemoa helped me get approved for the Chase Sapphire card when I applied for it before, so it was a big help this time around.
If you could, please add me to the list of members.
Congratulations on the approval and thanks for the link.
Added email.
Can I get it if my spouse has the same card and I am already registered as an AU? I think I've been applying for about a year.
Yes. It is my understanding that AU cards are not affected.
I was waiting to get a Delta card, thanks for sharing this great info. I got the IHG Sapphire miles thanks to MileMom and I'm so glad I did, thank you.
The Delta Gold Business card has a higher spend but gives more miles, so I'm not sure which one to get, but if I have a small business, is there a downside to getting the business card?
Also, if it's possible for me, can I be notified when a registration is opened?
Thank you!
If you can afford a business card and don't have a problem with spending, I think you're good to go.
Added.
hello! I don't have a lot of options besides Delta, so this card is really appealing to me 🙂 Thanks for letting me know about so many great opportunities! I'll add you to my list when you get a chance, and hope you have a great day!
The delta is often a bit of a crapshoot, but as long as the delta circle stays open, I think it's attractive enough.
Added.
Hi! I just moved to the US and I'm getting a lot of information. I just got the Amex Gold as my first card, and I've been looking into airline partner cards since I'm flying a lot more than I thought I would, so this is great news. If possible, would you mind adding me to your list? Thank you!
Added.
How are you?
Where can I find the link to sign up for the Amex Delta Gold within MileMojo?
You can apply through the partner sites linked on the English page.
https://www.milemoa.com/credit/delta-gold/
Mamo,
I'm applying for Delta Gold and it says I can't get the welcome offer, but of course I've never applied for this card, and I've only applied for 3 Amex cards in total so far and only closed one of them, the Platinum, and I still have the Hilton and Green cards, but why is that?
I'm glad you got the popup. Some people say it pops up right after you close the card, but I don't know the exact algorithm ;);
There are a lot of articles that come up when you do a title search for pop-ups on the board, and I recommend you find a few and read them. For example, this one.
https://www.milemoa.com/bbs/board/10776303
Thanks for the great information as always.
I currently have the Delta Business Amex Platinum card from 3 years ago, and I'm going to try to apply this time with my personal Gold Delta Amex, but I don't have a personal Amex, so I should be able to get the bonus, right?
Also, I searched on the Delta site to buy a plane to Korea, but on the final purchase screen, it says that I can get $500 statement credit if I apply for a personal gold card, but is it really possible to get $500 credit if I apply like this? However, it says that the bonus miles are 50,000. In fact, from the perspective of buying a ticket, I want to ask you whether it is a smart decision to apply for a card with $500 statement credit by doing the above.
And please save me to your list as well. Thank you
1. for Delta cards, I know it's possible if you don't get the popup because business cards and personal cards have no relationship (of course, you have to keep in mind Amex's flippers).
2. there are a lot of different offers going out through different channels, and if you're going to collect miles and redeem them for something like Delta One, 80,000 miles would be better. If you're going to redeem 10,000 miles for something like $100, I think the $500 + 50,000 offer is better.
3. added your email to the notification list.
I was on the most basic Amex Delta Gold, and I got two upgrade offers: late last year and early to mid this year. I'll give you a quick rundown.
Upgrade offer 1: Gold -> Platinum
- Condition: Pay 350 AF and spend $3000 during 6 months after upgrade
- Reward: 30,000 Miles, $250 statement credits
I'm getting 30,000 miles + 250 credit card credit for upgrading to Platinum, but I also got the offer below. I'm thinking about waiting a bit and applying.
Upgrade offer 2: Platinum -> Reserve
- Condition: Pay 650 AF and spend $3000 during 6 months after upgrade
- Reward: 35,000 Miles, $300 statement credits
I wonder if the Amex Delta card will be able to squeeze miles out of updating like the Hilton card, or if it's just this year.
Those are great offers. Have you gotten the new welcome bonus on the Platinum and Reserve cards before?
No, I've only ever gotten one of these from Delta Amex so far.
If you ever decide to move up to Reserve,
1. Will the previously paid Platinum AF be refunded in installments?
2. can Delta stay credit be redeemed again with an upgrade?
I'm not sure if this is clear, so I'll leave a DP on the board.
Why would you prefer an upgrade offer of 30,000 + $250 when the current flat offer is 90,000 miles? Because Amex basically has one signup bonus "for life" (except for NLL offers), so it's common to get one welcome bonus as a new signup and then utilize the upgrade offer afterward.
These two issues would be good data points for future updates.
Thank you.
I'm planning on traveling sometime next year, so I'll be checking in on Milemoa often to see if it's a good option for me. Thanks for the info~!
Please add me to the signup list~!
Good luck.
Added.
I opened DeltaGold in 2015, stayed for a year, and then closed it without downgrading.
I applied with Mamo's link, thinking that even if I don't get the bonus, I can't do it.
I'm mermaided without a popup, but I'll have to wait until I fill my spend and the bonus comes in to be sure.
I guess the "7 year reset" does apply to some extent.
Thanks for the great information as always!
Congratulations, mermaid. We hope you're enjoying your welcome bonus.
I've been in the US for a little over a year now, and I've been very grateful for your help.
Thanks to you, we have issued the Sapphire preferred card.

hello. Thanks to you, I issued the Sapphire preferred card 3 years ago and have been traveling well with miles. This time I'm thinking of issuing an Amex card, but it's a good time to give me good mileage. I'm looking forward to getting it with your help. Thank you so much and can I sign up? I would love to be added to the list.

Thanks for the great info as always! I've been thinking about my next card after the Chase Saf Amex Gold and this looks like a great option, I'll have to apply for it soon.

Thank you so much for all the great information you always provide! I'm new to the miles/points world and feel like I'm in a new world thanks to you. I missed the golden signup period last year.... Please add me to the signup list...thanks!

I've heard that there is a $100 per calendar year credit for using the Delta Gold card to book and pay for a hotel or vacation rental at a prepaid rate. Does this mean that I don't have to check into the hotel or stay at the hotel to receive the statement credit with payment, like the FHR program on Amex Platinum? Thanks!
Yes. In my experience, Delta Stay is prepaid and you name the guest when you book, so you don't necessarily have to be there.
hello.
I'd love to be added to the list!
Thank you^^ Please

I went to your link and got my card approved. I've never opened an airline credit card before, but I think I'll finally be able to use my miles to do some business. lol Thanks for the good info.
Congratulations on the approval and thanks for the link.
I'm hoping that Delta's business equivalent of the Delta One discount, which has been going on for the past year, will continue next year.
Thank you so much for all the great information! I'm learning so much here. Can I be notified when it becomes available? Thank you!

hello. I'm new to the US and I'm looking for a lot of help.
I saw your post and applied for Delta Gold yesterday and got approved... My question is,
I signed up with my spouse as an additional member to combine miles into one account.
I'm wondering if it would be better to file a new application in my spouse's name.
(We can't all sign up and collect our own miles, can we?)
I'm not even a year post-immigrant yet, so so far I've only had the Bank of America Secured (which was released to credit last month), 2 Chase Freedom, and I'm thinking of applying for the Sapph when they run the promotion next year.
1. some miles/points are free to combine and some are not, and Delta does not allow free combining.
2. the miles are earned as sign-up bonuses, and you can only accumulate 80,000 at a time from sign-ups, so if you try to accumulate them from card spend, it's really half a month. So if your spouse is eligible for the card, the best strategy is for both of you to get the card and each get the sign-up bonus.
Hi. I'm always learning a lot from your posts. Thank you.
I have a question for you.
I've only been in the US for a short time, and I just created 1) a BOA basic credit card and 2) an Amex Hilton.
Then I realized that I wanted to create a card for my parents' airline tickets.
3) Should I apply for Delta Gold right away and start using it? Or should I wait a little longer and get another airline-related card? Or should I just wait for the Chase Sapphire Preferred?
Thank you.
So first of all, Sapphire Preferred is up to 7.5 million with this new offer, which is not quite the 100,000 that we had not too long ago, but I should mention that it's a new offer.
I think the question of whether Delta miles or Chase UR miles, which are also transferable to Virgin, are better depends on ticket availability, personal travel preferences, etc. I'd love to be able to book Korean Air economy nonstop on Virgin, but I'm not sure I'll be able to do that for a few months. Korean Air ticketing not working due to an error on Virgin's siteOn the other hand, the Delta is currently offering a discount on Business (Delta One) Milesand
In the long run, it's best to have a lot of them here and there ;);
You should be able to create different credit cards for different purposes.
Thanks for the answer. If I want to ticket, I'd probably be better off collecting Delta miles rather than going after Chase UR miles at this point.
So if you have the Amex Hilton, do you recommend making the Delta Gold as well? Or if you're a MileMom, do you think you'd do something different for the third credit card?
(I'd like to ask if it's okay to create both Amex Hilton and Delta Gold as you recommended for my first credit card)
Without knowing 100% your situation, it's hard to recommend a card.
However, I will say that the general path is to fill up your Chase cards first if possible due to the Chase 5/24 rule.
I've been looking into the Delta personal card for a while now, and I've been thinking about getting one, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea. Can I also get the signup notification?
That's right. With five nonstop routes to South Korea, it's the most of any U.S. airline.

Wow, I've only had my first Chase card for 3 months, so I just poked around.
I was approved within 4 hours of submitting my application....
I applied for my first Amex card because of you, thank you.
We'd love to add you to our signup reminder list.
