[Updated to 125,000 points] Sari Card, our best offer yet

[Updated 08.21.2025].

The current offer is 125,000 points for 3 months of $6,000 spend.

For those who found it difficult to redeem the $500 credit, the updated offer to get the entire signup bonus in points might be better.

=====

Today's post is a quick reminder.

Sari Card (Chase Sapphire Reserve®) is launching a limited-time offer this Thursday Wednesday (8/21), which will end at 9 a.m. Eastern time.

Sometimes the link goes down earlier, so if you're thinking about applying, it's best to do so at least a day in advance.

With this major update to the Sari Card, we've made some big changes to the card's basic benefits, as well as the eligibility requirements to apply.

For the card's different benefits, see More on this in a previous postwhich I thought you might find helpful.

In today's post, we've outlined some of the questions you may have about eligibility and more.

1. I've had a Sari card before. Can I apply for a new one this time?

The terms say "The new cardmember bonus may not be available to you if you currently have any other personal Sapphire cards open, previously held this card or received a new cardmember bonus for this card".

It says that those who have had a Sari card in the past or received a signup bonus may not be eligible for the new member bonus.

The wording used was "may not be available" rather than are not available, so there was some wiggle room, and we actually had a few people get approved before August 1st.

But, The general consensus is that approvals will not be granted after August 1, with few exceptions.seems to be.

2. I have previously had a Sapphire Card (Sapphire Preferred® Card). Can I apply for a new Sapphire Card this time?

In the terms, it says "The new cardmember bonus may not be available to you if you currently have open any other personal Sapphire cards....".

So, if you currently have the Sharp card, I would have expected that you would be able to apply for the Sari card after downgrading to a card like the Freedom (= getting rid of your Sapphire family card).

But the We are also seeing a lot of reports of cases not being approved after August 1st.

This means that we don't just look at whether you currently have a Sharp card, we also check whether you've received a Sharp card bonus in the past, and there are a number of instances where you're not approved for a card if you have a history of having a Sharp card.

In other words, there are concerns that some sort of "family rule" has been unofficially introduced... ㅠㅠ

3. Is the 48-month rule still in place?

The 48-month rule means that you're not eligible for the new member bonus on a Sapphire family card, whether Sapphire or Sharp, until 48 months after you've earned your last bonus on a Sapphire card.

With this update to the Sari card, the 48-month rule itself is gone.

Unfortunately, the bonus "once in a lifetime" rule has been introduced, so if you've had a Sari card in the past, it's almost impossible to get a new sign-up bonus.

4. I'm told I'll receive 100,000 points plus a $$500 Chase TravelSM promo credit as a sign-up bonus. When will this credit come through?

This offer is for 3 months and $5,000 in spending.

Once you meet the requirements, you'll receive 100,000 UR points, plus a $$500 Chase Travel℠ promo credit in addition to your points.

Information from @June'sAcaciaScent on the message boardAccording to the company, this $$500 promo credit should arrive about 3 days after the invoice for the month in which you've met your spend, and you'll also receive an email notification. (We'd like to take this opportunity to thank @AcaciaScent for the scent of June).

5. Is the $500 Chase Travel promotional credit automatically applied when I book on the Chase Travel site? Or can you choose whether or not to use it?

It's not automatic, and the Chase Travel site says you can choose whether or not to apply it.

This is the good news.

The reason is that this credit is This is because it's a one-time use, and if you use it on a $500 or less travel item, the remaining funds are gone.

The terms and conditions say "The promotional credit is valid for a one-time use only, if you apply the promotional credit to a transaction less than $500, you will forfeit the remaining balance".

Therefore, if possible, we recommend that you only use it if your travel purchase is over $500.

I think this is something to keep in mind.

6. I am an existing Sari Card member. Is the newly introduced The Edit $250 semi-annual credit offer ($500 per year) available to existing members immediately?

No, unfortunately, existing members won't be able to take advantage of many of these new and updated benefits until after 10/26. We'll have a roundup post on this at a later date.

Let's wrap up today's post.

The Sari Card has a great sign-up bonus offer, but the qualifications have gotten really tough, so if you've had a Sari or Sharp card in the past, you may not be able to apply.

If this applies to you, it's a great offer and you should consider it.

It's 6/24 and when I go to sign up it says I can sign up but I won't get the bonus.

  • I had a sap before, closed it, applied for a sari today and got a mermaid! The sap was closed for over 2 years. I didn't get a popup saying I won't get the bonus.

    • Congratulations mermaid. I think this is a very important example as there were a lot of comments from people who had a saree that wasn't a saree in the past and wondered if they shouldn't be able to pop up at all. Thanks for sharing this information.

      • I asked my banker today and was told that I can get the sari bonus 48 months after the sap closure. I think there were some people who received it in a few days after downgrading their Saf in mid-July, but I couldn't... I asked in various ways, and the banker was sorry and said he would post feedback to the manager lol.

  • I applied under P2's name this morning and they said no bonus, so I didn't get it, I should have done it last month, I canceled my sharp last month, I tried to stagger it by a month to get P1 to apply first, but I screwed up, P2 applied for sharp 4 years ago and got the bonus.

  • I've never had a Sharp/Shari before, so I'm thinking of applying for the Shari, but I'm hesitant because of the high annual fee. I'm thinking of traveling to Europe next summer, so I'm hoping to use the points to help pay for lodging and flights. I'm worried. If I downgrade to Sharp or cancel the Shari after a year of use, will there be any problems with credits, etc. or are there many people who cancel after only one year of use?

I want to join Milemoa, thank you

    • 1. I know there are a lot of people who sign up for a full year and then downgrade or cancel when the next annual fee comes up.

      2. added an email address to the notification list.

  • And August 21 is a Thursday, not a Wednesday.

  • I signed up for Saf in April and received 100,000 points. Does the explanation you gave above mean that the 48-month rule is gone and I can only get the bonus once, whether it's for Sari or Saf, so I won't get the bonus if I apply for Sari in the future?

And I would like to sign up for Milemoa, thank you.

    • After August 1, it seems to be the case, but there seem to be some exceptions, so we'll have to wait and see.

I'll add your address to a list that we'll email you when the signup announcement comes up.

Thanks for the great information. I just found out about Milemoa and applied for my first card last week. I got the $500 credit + 100K miles offer and the deal was updated right away.

    Thanks for the update.

  • Thanks for the good information. I created my sarp 3 years ago and downgraded it. Is it possible to get sari points with the changed rules?? Can I be added to the email list to get the announcement?

    • 1. there's talk of both Sharp and Sari being affected after August, so I wouldn't say you'll be able to get approved for Sari. You'll have to try it yourself to see if it pops up.

      2. added.

  • hello. I applied for the Chase Reserve in August and filled up over $5000 but the 125000 points haven't come through yet. Should I wait any longer or call them? I gave a referral to someone I know and it didn't make a difference.

    • 1. Signed up for email notifications about your membership.

      2. The Reserve offer has been updated once: the 100,000 points + $500 offer is now a $5,000 offer, and the 125,000 points offer is now a $6,000 offer. You might want to check the terms.

Additionally, it's common for bonuses to update a few days after you receive your invoice for the month you've spent. If you haven't been invoiced yet, you'll have to wait a little longer.

  • Wow, I wonder if this makes the 5/24 rule that we've been memorizing and applying so easily meaningless. All courses are all about getting points, but if someone who has received signup points with a Sapphire card in the past can't get them again, what's the point of going through the trouble to sign up again?

    I'm signing up too.
    Thank you

    • If this is a definitive change that makes it impossible to apply for a new sari if you have a record of being a Sapphire Preferred, it must be a very negative change ㅠㅠ

Rather than receiving sign-ups as comments, you're signing up for a notification list that will email you when future sign-up announcements are made.

  • I could get approved, but they said I couldn't get the bonus because I had it before, so I gave up.
I think I'll run to Alaska.
By the way, I called yesterday to check my Hilton gift card balance and was told that my Hilton gift card will be blocked from being used starting this September.
I applied for the refund process today and it was very cumbersome because I had to first give the gift card info over the phone, then email them, then fill out a form and send it in.
I'm posting here because there's nothing on the board about this yet and I'm not eligible to post on the board because I'm a non-member.
We'd appreciate it if you'd let us know when you're next signing up

  • Previously had a Sapphire card and received the sign-up bonus 48 months ago.
I applied for saff again the other day (9/9) and it popped up as signup not eligible, so I canceled it. I applied for sari and it was approved today. Does this mean I'm eligible for the signup bonus? I didn't see a separate popup during the application process about not getting the bonus.

  • I'm confused about the SariCard offer and have a question. Am I correct in understanding that it has changed from 100k signup bonus + $500 travel credit to 125k bonus? I got the Sharp card about 7 years ago and downgraded to the Freedom card earlier this year and was wondering if I would be able to apply for the Sari card.

I want to become a MileMoa member.

    • That's right. It's gone from points + travel credit to all points, and since points don't expire, I guess you could say the offer is better. It's worth noting that the spending threshold has been raised slightly.

You'll have to try it yourself to see if it works or not.

  • Hello, I saw this article and applied for membership through your referral link. I also received a fraud protection letter... After a long journey, I was approved 3 weeks after applying and am waiting for delivery. It's going to be a month when I finally get the actual thing. Thanks for organizing this, and I'd appreciate it if you'd sign me up for the membership notification emails.

  • I have a question, and this is the only place I can ask it...
    I created a Saf in 2021 and downgraded to Saf>Unli in 24.
If I make a sari card this time, will it be a bonus? I'm so confused because the agent says no and somewhere says yes....
I'm not sure if I'm eligible for the welcome bonus, but it looks like I've applied.ㅠㅠ I thought I didn't submit, but I'm upset.

And may I be added to the signup announcement list?
(I also asked about signing up for new member notifications in the previous post)

  • I applied on my laptop and it said it needed to review my application. I waited about 2 days and the chase app said pre approved, so I applied on the app and got it right away. Then I called chase just in case and asked if I was eligible for the 125K bonus and got a yes. Now I'm just waiting for the card to arrive. Fill it up with spending...so easy lol.

  • I downgraded from an upgraded Reserve (I never got the bonus with the Reserve) to Freedom back in August and applied for the Reserve to try out the new signup bonus, but I got a popup saying I couldn't get the signup bonus so I just gave up. Then yesterday I got a letter from Chase dated 9/29 stating that we incorrectly declined your application and invite you to re-apply. I didn't actually go all the way to the application, I just stopped when I saw the pop-up that said I couldn't get the sign-up bonus, but I got a letter saying that they incorrectly declined my application, so I'm thinking that this letter is also an error, although it does say at the bottom that I may not get the sign-up bonus... I'm thinking about trying to apply again. Anyone else get a letter like this?

  • hello. I've been a member for about 2 years and I've gotten a lot of information and help from UR and contribute a lot to family travel and airline tickets^^. I have one question, last year P2 upgraded from Sharp to Sari and paid one annual fee and the new annual fee is coming soon, but now I don't have many points left so I'm thinking of downgrading back to Sharp, but I booked a hotel and flight to Hawaii next summer with Sari points before October 26th and received $300 hotel credit for early December, so is it okay to downgrade? Travel credits are supposed to be found on the next year's board, but I couldn't find the exact answer. Thank you again and I look forward to your continued help~~!
