Card offers are a dime a dozen these days.
Chase affiliate card, the The United card lineup has been completely updated The United cards have changed so much in terms of benefits and annual fees that I'll cover them in more detail in a future post.
The topic of today's post is a hotel card, the IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card.
The card is currently undergoing its best promotion ever, so we've put together a list of the most frequently asked questions in 10 questions and 10 answers.
Table of Contents
Key features of the offer and point value
1. Briefly describe the features of this offer.
The best part of this offer is that we're now offering The signup bonus went up to $200,000.
The card launched in 2022, and 140,000 points is a common offer; the previous best offer was around 165,000.
For this offer, you'll first get 140,000 points if you spend $4,000 within 3 months, and another 60,000 points if you spend an additional $5,000 within 6 months (for a total of $90,000).
That is, Up to 200,000 pointsin the response.
2. How much is the 200,000 points I receive as a signup bonus worth?
IHG is a Buying IHG points articleAs we discussed in the Buy Points promotion, the nominal value is 0.5 cents because they are available for direct purchase at a rate of 1 point = 0.5 cents.
To put that in perspective, 200,000 points are worth roughly $1,000 in cash value. The annual fee is $99, so even if you factor in the annual fee, it's worth $900.
Of course, just like airline miles, hotel points are redeemable, so you can get more value out of them than 1 point = 0.5 cents, or less, depending on your situation.
For example, if we look at hotels in Manhattan, New York City.
As of July 3, 2025, the InterContinental New York Times Square costs 52,000 points per night, while the Kimpton Theta New York - Times Square costs 38,000 points per night.
Let's see what the cash value is. For InterContinental, it's $325 before taxes, and for Kimpton, it's $298.
Simple math tells us that one point is worth 0.625 cents at InterContinental and 0.78 cents at Kimpton.
To summarize, 200,000 points is the same amount as the Points for 3 nights at a decent hotel, maybe 4 if you're really pushing itfor example.
Of course, if you're going to stay 4 nights in one hotel, as we'll explain below, you can use the 4th night free feature to stay at a better hotel at a lower redemption price.
2 card perks: 4th night free + annual staycard
1. What are the benefits of the card's basic features, excluding the sign-up bonus?
There are two main advantages to the card, the first being that you can get a 4th night free with 3 nights of points (4th night free feature).
There are currently three IHG affiliate cards available, including the HG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card, which we'll talk about today, and two personal cards, all of which have the 4th night free after 4 nights of points.
This benefit allows cardmembers to stay four or more nights using points from their account and get the fourth night free, which can be a significant savings since you can get a fourth night using only three nights' worth of points.
Let's take another example, this time from Seoul.
Say you're checking in on July 7, checking out on July 11, and staying at the InterContinental Seoul for 4 nights.
Without a card, InterContinental Parnassus costs 49,250 points per night, or 197,000 points for four nights.
However, if you have an affiliate card, the 4th night free offer is automatically added.
This works out to an average of 37,000 points per night and a total of 148,000 points for the four nights. That's a savings of 49,000 points = $245 in cash value compared to not being a cardmember.
2. What's the second advantage?
Another great perk is that starting in your second year of card ownership, you'll receive one Anniversary Free Night with every card renewal.
There is a limitation that these nights are only good for stays at hotels that cost up to 40,000 points, but for IHG Ability to add or subtract pointsso you can stay at hotels that cost more than 40,000 points without a problem.
For example, if a hotel costs 60,000 points per night, you can get a night's stay for an additional 20,000 points.
3. Can I transfer my annual accommodation voucher from my second year to someone else?
According to the Terms, they are not transferable in principle.
The terms and conditions say "Anniversary Free Night may not be transferred, extended beyond the expiration date, redeemed for cash, or re-credited for points".
However, some hotels may be more accommodating than others, so you'll need to contact the individual hotel for that.
Annual fees and whether to convert airline miles
1. Do I have to pay the annual fee from the first year?
In this article, we'll introduce the IHG One Rewards Premier Business Cardfor example, you'll be charged a $99 annual fee for the first year as soon as you get the card.
- However, as I mentioned earlier, you get one 40,000 point stay per year (worth about $200 on the Max), so the annual fee can be worth it.
- Plus, with United's TravelBank Cash, you can earn $25 semi-annually for a total of $50 after a year (pre-enrollment required), so it's safe to say that you'll be able to knock off about half the annual fee.
- Plus, the card offers a one-time credit of up to $120 for things like Global Entry and TSA PreCheck (once every four years), so it's safe to say that you could probably pay off a year's worth of annual fees with that credit.
To summarize, I think the question of whether or not you'll want to pay the annual fee in year two depends on whether or not you can make good use of the 40,000-point night voucher and the card's primary feature, which is the free night after 4 nights of points.
2. Can these IHG points be converted to airline miles?
Airline mile conversion optionsin the file.
However, it's probably best to think of airline mile conversions as a non-starter, as they often lose a fifth of their value when converted.
For example, the For Korean Air For every 10,000 IHG points, you'll get 2,000 Korean Air miles, so unless you're in a very, very big hurry, it's best to redeem IHG points for stays at IHG properties.
Things to keep in mind when applying for a card
1. I received an old IHG card in the past. Can I apply for a new card to get the sign-up bonus?
I think I should explain the old-IHG card first because some of you may not recognize it.
("All information about IHG One Rewards Select Card has been collected independently by MileMoa. IHG One Rewards Select Card is no longer available through MileMoa.")
The old IHG card was officially called the IHG Rewards Select Card, and it was once considered a must-have card for Magic Circle members because it had a $49 annual fee and allowed you to earn one unrestricted night per year after the second year. However, it was discontinued in the spring of 2018, so if you have the old card, you can still use it, but the annual night award is capped at 40,000 points and you can't add more points.
Of course, you get the 10% back in the form of a rebate when you redeem points, so it's a great card if you're a heavy points user, and I know a lot of people who can't cancel the card and keep it for this very reason.
To answer your question.
Just because you have an old IHG card doesn't mean you'll have trouble getting a business card like the one we're talking about today.
Business cards are not affected by whether or not you have a personal card.
2. Is this card eligible for Chase 5/24?
This is a YN card, which is a Chase-issued business card, so it's a 5/24 check when you apply for the card, but doesn't go into the 5/24 count after you're approved.
3. I created my card before the promotion. Will I be able to match the sign-up bonus?
Chase bonus matching isn't as good as it used to be these days, but I think you can request it.
YMMV, of course.
Let's wrap up today's post.
For any card, it's great to see the best offers ever.
However, there's no 100% offer that's good for everyone, so you'll want to make sure you've done your homework to make sure it's the right card for you.

Ugh I can't decide if I want to open Amex Gold or take this.
Thanks for the great article
We hope this helps.
Unfortunately, I got the bonus in July 23, so I guess I'll have to wait for the next one. When I went to the application link for this card, it said that IHG Diamond Elite will be given to me by December 31 of the following year if I spend more than $40,000 a year on the card. It also said that I'll get one more night if I spend more than $60,000. Anyway, do you know if these two benefits were in the old card terms and conditions? Platinum Elite is nothing special, but Diamond Elite still includes breakfast and seems like a pretty good deal, so I'm wondering if it's a good deal if I can spend on business.
It looks like there are three benefits based on how much you spend on the card.
100 statement credit and 10,000 points when you spend $20,000
Diamond Elite after $40K spend
Add one free night when you spend $60,000
I think IHG temporarily made it easier to earn Diamond status when they revamped the program, so the fact that you have to spend money to earn the status hasn't been as prominent. However, if you're a frequent IHG stayer, I think it's worth it to earn Diamond status.
Note that the $20,000 spend bonus and $40,000 spend bonus are also available on the personal card, the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card.
It seems like a good deal since you can get diamonds for a lot less than Hyatt, but I was curious since you didn't mention it.
I'll get about 120,000 points for spending $40,000 instead, which is a small amount, but I guess I'll have to make do with less point value ^^;;
Thank you for your response. ^^^^ ^^.
Yeah, and I would also say that Hyatt allows you to earn milestones in the form of stamp breaks in the middle, whereas IHG doesn't, and Hyatt allows you to pass on benefits to third parties, including family members, in the form of coupons, whereas IHG doesn't.
However, as you said, you can achieve the highest status with $40,000 in spend, so I'd say this is a great option if you're a frequent IHG stayer.
Do IHG points transfer over? Or do I have to throw away the leftover points without being able to use them?
I forgot to thank you first, always appreciate the good info.
As mentioned in the text, it converts to airline miles, but at a poor rate.
I think it's best to save up enough points to buy a hotel stay if you have a shortfall.
Thanks for the great information as always!
I studied abroad in the US and now that I'm about to graduate, I found this website!
I can't seem to sign up right now, is there any way I can be put on the waitlist?

I opened the Ihg Traveler Card (no annual fee),
Will I get a reward if I open this card now?
I don't think it's a regulatory issue or anything, good luck.
Do you have a card application referral link?
You can apply on the partner sites linked on the English page. Thank you.

I'm thinking of using this card signup bonus for the Iberostar Selection Cancún in Cancún at the end of July, but if I apply for the card today (3/31/25), meet the spend... will I be able to redeem the points at the end of July due to time constraints?
I'm wondering if I spend 4k in a month and the points don't come in for 3 months, or if they come in right away once I spend.
It usually comes in within a few days of your invoice for the month that you meet your spend. However, if you meet your spending close to the invoice date, your bonus may be rolled over to the next month, so keep that in mind.
Is that three months and six months totaling nine months? Or am I supposed to spend 4k in 3 months and the other 5k in 3 months?
No, it's six months.
You'll only get 14% if you spend 4k in the first 3 months, and you'll need to spend the remaining 5k within 6 months of applying for the card to get the extra bonus.
Of course, you can spend the entire $9,000 in the first three months.
Considering that the points are collected as a sign-up bonus, this is the same as getting 140,000, which is fine to spend $4000 to get 140,000, but to get an additional 60,000, you'd have to spend an additional $5000, and you'd be much better off getting that $5000 as another new card bonus.
Yes, I think that's a good way to look at it.
However, if you're a business owner who spends a lot of money, you might find it too much of a hassle to create a new card.
If I book 12 nights, do I get 3 of the 12 nights free and only lose 9 points?
The terms and conditions say "For each standard room Reward Night stay of 4 or more nights, every 4th night is free". Since it says every 4th night, I know that if I have 12 nights, the 4th, 8th, and 12th nights are free, assuming that all 12 nights are booked with points.
The same question was asked on Reddit and the answer there is yes.

CHASE IHG One Rewards TRAVELER Credit Card (mastercard)I have a card that is no longer being issued, can I transfer my points to this IHG Business Card if I open it? Or should I keep the points on my existing IHG card and open a new IHG Business card? Credit card points are always difficult for me, thanks.
When you say transferring points, do you mean IHG points are automatically consolidated?
Enter your existing IHG membership number when you apply for the IHG Business Card and it will be automatically added to your account.
Yes, I was asking about the IHG points integration, thank you, so you just need to open a new one.
That's right.
Mamo, I have a question for you.
My referral link doesn't say that I get 60,000 points for spending an extra $5,000, so is Jerry's just 140,000? Do I have to use your referral link to get the full 200k?
Sometimes personal referrals are not eligible for promotions, and this seems to be the case with the Business Card.
To receive up to 200,000 offers, you must write a link to the offer.
Ah thank you Mamo, I will utilize your link.
Thank you.
Getting approved for a Chase card has been a little tricky lately, but I got approved right away through your link!
Thank you.
Congratulations on the approval and thanks for the link.
You always do a great job. I was approved right away through your link, thanks as always.
Congratulations on the approval and thanks for the link.
hello
I have a personal IHG card.
When creating a business card, I want to know if I should include my personal membership number or create a separate membership number for the business.
I was wondering if I can use one membership number for personal use and get a free night each year for personal/business?
Simply enter the same IHG membership number.
It's a great article and I'm looking forward to reading it again! I've asked for membership last month but haven't heard from you yet, so I'm going to ask you to join me again~ 🙂 I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
I think you have a misunderstanding. Membership sign-ups are done on a day once every 1-2 years, and because of the long periods of time that we don't accept members, and because there are many people who are waiting for a long time, I am collecting email addresses as a service, saying that I will send you a courtesy email, and then when the sign-up announcement is posted on the bulletin board, I will send you an email to sign up by referring to the announcement. So, just leaving your email address does not mean that your membership will be processed/completed immediately.
