The Thanksgiving holiday is over, and we're now in December as we close out 2020. With the number of COVID-19 cases continuing to rise, it's shaping up to be a very cold winter in many ways, and we hope you're all staying healthy.
Today's post is 10 questions and 10 answers about our business cards, the Ink Business Cash Card and Ink Business Unlimited Card.
These cards are,
1) 7.5K points with current promotionas a signup bonus. This is the highest signup bonus ever, considering the previous bonus level was 30k and 50k during the promotion.
The 75,000 points are worth $750 if you cash them out right away, but as I'll explain later, you can get more value by linking them to the Dorrance card and transferring them to airline miles or Hyatt hotels.
2) In addition to this, the card also supports No annual feefor the first year. Typically, cards with good sign-up bonuses have high annual fees, or if they do, they're often only waived for the first year, and these are the ones with no annual fee at all. These are great cards to hold onto for the long term.
So let's get started.
1. Both cards are no annual fee cards, what's the difference?
I'm sure you've heard of the no-annual-fee Chase personal cards, the Freedom Card (now renamed the Freedom Flex) and the Freedom Unlimited Card (the so-called big sister).
The Ink Business Cash Card (the Ink Cash Card) and the Ink Business Limited Card (the Ink Sister Card) are the business versions of these cards.
In other words, you can think of them as having no annual fee, but earning different amounts of points based on how much you spend on the card.

2. So which card is better for me?
I think it depends on what the card is primarily used for.
If you have a lot of telecom and office supply store spending, a cash card is obviously a better choice.
If you're splitting your spending evenly, the big sister card, which earns 1.5 points per dollar, no matter what, might be a better choice.
3. What are the spending requirements to receive the sign-up bonus?
The spending requirement is $7,500 within 3 months of card approval.
The spending requirement is pretty high for those who don't spend a lot on business, but considering that the Ink Business Preferred, which is a premium version of the Ink Card, has a spending requirement of $1.50 for 3 months, I'd say the sign-up-to-spend ratio isn't bad.
(Ink Preferred is a 100,000-point signup bonus for spending $1.5K).
4. The ad says I get $750 cash back, not 75,000 points. How does this become 75,000 points?
For both cards, you'll receive the sign-up bonus in UR points, Chase's own points, rather than straight cash.
However, the Cash Card and its sister cards are not so-called transformable Dorrance cards, so they don't have the ability to convert UR points to airline miles like UA or Virgin Atlantic or hotel points like Hyatt.
So if you only have the Ink Cash card or the Ink Sister card, the only way to redeem these 75,000 points is to cash them in, which is pretty much the only way to redeem them. That's why the ad itself is showing $750.
5. So how can I convert the UR points I earn with the Ink Cash card to Virgin Atlantic miles or Hyatt points?
If you have a Dorrance cardin the file.
Personal cards are either 1) the Sapphire Preferred Card or 2) the Sapphire Reserve Card. For business cards, the 1) Ink Business Preferred Card is a Dorrance card.
If you have this card, you can combine UR points earned on your Ink Cash card or Ink Sister card to your UR account on your Dorrance card.
For example, I have an Ink Cash card and a Sapphire Reserve card, and as you can see below, I can combine points from the Ink Cash card into my Sapphire Reserve account.
And once they're combined, you can transfer them to your own airline mile account.
Right now, it's pretty hard to maximize the value of UR points because we can't travel due to the pandemic, but I think it's safe to say that once the situation improves and we're able to travel again, redeeming UR points for airline miles or hotel points is a much better way to get value.
UR 7.5k points is $750 if you redeem for cash, If I transfer 60,000 points to Virgin Atlantic for a Delta U.S.-Korea one-way business ticket, I'll get It's like you're inflating the value by 2-3x, if not more.
At the end of the day, having at least one Dorrance card maximizes the value of your UR points, so I'd recommend that one person in a couple always have at least one Dorrance card, like the Sapphire Preferred.
6. Do points earned on the Ink Cash Card or Ink Sister Card expire?
No, there is no expiration date while you have the card, but if you cancel the card, your points are automatically forfeited, so you should transfer them to another UR account before canceling the card.
7. When will I receive my signup bonus?
Points usually come in with your bill for the month that you've met your spending.
It's worth noting that sometimes, if you're very close to your invoice date and you've met your spending, you may be rolled over to the next month.
8. I currently have the Ink Business Preferred Card. Will I get the bonus if I downgrade to the Ink Cash Card?
No. Credit card signup bonuses are outgoing bonuses that are meant to attract new customers, which is why the If you convert or downgrade an existing card to a product, you won't receive the sign-up bonus.
9. So if I have the Ink Business Preferred card, can I also get the Ink Cash or Ink Sister card?
As long as you're not past 5/24, we don't see any issues with the terms. Of course, you won't know if you're approved until you apply for the card.
10. Can I have an Ink Cash card and a sister card at the same time?
This also doesn't seem to be a problem under the terms.
However, Chase Business cards are known to approve up to 1 card every 30 days, so you'll want to be careful with timing.
11. I'm new to business cards. What should I look out for?
Business cards are a great opportunity for those who can get them, as they give you another opportunity to earn miles, but there are some restrictions, including status issues, so it's always a good idea to be cautious.
A business card is literally a card that you can get if you have a business. In the U.S., a business doesn't mean you have to have a brick-and-mortar storefront. It's often said that a sole proprietorship, which is a small side hustle, can be considered a business. This is why English-speaking bloggers often say that Uber drivers or people who sell used items on eBay as a hobby can be considered sole proprietors and therefore eligible for a business card. Also, you can apply for a business card if you have a Even if you look at Flyertalk Some argue that business cards are just a form of payment, not related to the actual business and therefore not relevant to tax reporting.
However, (and this is just my opinion), I don't think this is as easy as it seems.
First of all, many people use their business cards to pay for personal expenses that aren't business expenses, which in principle (depending on the card company) could be a violation of the terms and conditions (although I've never seen anyone actually get in trouble for this), since business cards are meant to be used for business-related expenses.
In addition, if you're not a permanent resident or citizen, we recommend that you don't apply for a business card at all..
If you're on an F or H visa, having a business card when you're not allowed to have a second job (even if the card company doesn't report it to the relevant authorities) can raise unnecessary suspicions about your intentions, so it's best to stay away from it altogether and not be greedy.
Let's wrap up today's post.
If you're running a business and you're taxed by a tax accountant, you've probably heard a lot of people say that you should put all of your business expenses on one card, and that you should use the same card over and over again for consistency, and that's where a no-annual-fee card comes in.

And I also opened Ink Cash under my wife's name and got rejected for too many cards... (For reference, I opened Sway Performance late last year and Ink Preferred early this year...)
I think I need to take a break to open a Sway business at the end of next year.
Chase says it's a little easier to open business cards these days, but they're still pretty scrutinizing, so be careful, and like MileMoa said, be careful. It sucks when you get caught.
I haven't applied for a card in over a year and it has nothing to do with 5/24, so I applied for the first time in a long time and this is what I got.
It was rejected, right?
Thank you for your request.
Unfortunately, we are unable to approve your application.
We will provide you more detailed information in 7-10 days that explains the reasons for this decision
Yes. Unfortunately, it looks like you were rejected. I'd suggest you check the reason and give Chase a call to see if there was a mistake.
It's been over 20 days and I still haven't received a reject letter
We suggest you give Chase a call.
I'm 5/24 with sapphire churning this time,
In December, I downloaded ink preferred to ink unlimited this morning because of the annual fee and no retention. It's a shame about the bonus...
That's right.
Thanks for the info! I currently have the Ink Cash card, do you think I'll have any trouble getting the bonus if I get approved for the Ink Sister card?
Yes. As per Kimo's answer above, I know it's not a problem.
You should have no problem getting the bonus as long as you're approved, I have both cards now and got the bonus on both.
Thanks for sharing your story.
This is the first rejection in over a decade of wear.
I also have 5 Chase cards, is that too many? Freedom 2, Hyatt, IHG, Sari
You'll know it when it comes
I'd love to be able to recon.
I heard earlier this year that it was getting harder to get approved for a Chase business card, and it seems like it's still just as hard.
I have been declined twice recently, the first time was Ink Cash and I was declined and the second time was United Biz and I was declined again. Both times I waited expecting a defense, but the cards never came and when I checked the results, they were rejected. The first time I thought so and moved on, but the second time I checked the detailed reason and it just said Business structure and there was no explanation. I was confused and called them and they just told me to wait 30 days. I usually only make personal cards and am just now trying to make a Chase Business and I'm worried if this keeps happening.
Thanks for sharing your review.
Thanks for the mermaid, I've been caving for the last two years.
But is it going to the card business address, I thought I saw that somewhere on a message board...
I can't... ㅠㅠ
Thanks anyway
It will go to the mailing address you provided when you applied for the card.
Just be patient. My wife came in like that and was approved.
We wish you the best of luck.
I just applied, I thought it was going to be approved right away, but it says... No?
In fact, I've been a sole proprietor for a couple years with almost no income.
I don't think there will be a problem on 5/24....
Chase Ink Business Unlimited credit card
Thank you for your request.
We need to review your request a little longer. We will let you know of our decision as soon as possible.
Thank you for choosing the Chase Ink Business Unlimited credit card.
I applied for ink sister as a sole proprietor on 5/24 with no problems,
I got the same message.
Good luck.

I was asked for additional documentation, faxed a UtilityBill with my name on it, sent it in, and received an acknowledgement the next morning.
Congratulations on your approval and thanks for the update.

Two days later I got an email saying approved. They said the package should arrive within 1-2 weeks. I'm thinking of paying my property taxes first. It will be nice to be able to overspend in one go. Thanks for the good info.
Congratulations.
Hello This is not a related thread, but I have a question. I currently have the Hilton honors card surpass and have earned 130,000 welcome points with this card. If I open another card in the same family of honors cards, will I be able to earn more welcome points or will I no longer be able to earn welcome points with this type of honors card?
I know this is possible for Hilton cards because they are considered different products.
If I have a big purchase on the 12th and I apply for the card today on the 6th, can I get it before the 11th?
How long does it usually take to apply and receive?
It's hard to say because it depends on the individual, but I think 11 days might be a little hard.
I downgraded my Ink Preferred to Ink Unlimited and have it, and I also have Ink Cash signed up and have it, so if I apply for another card while I already have Ink Unlimited, will I be able to get it signed up?
And independent of my situation, if you look at the new Ink Unlimited offer terms, there is no 24-month anti-churning rule. Even uscreditcardguide.com has crossed out the original 24-month anti-churning rule and says that the Ink Series no longer has an anti-churning rule? (https://www.uscreditcardguide.com/chase-ink-unlimited-credit-card/)
1. I've heard that people with multiple businesses can get multiple EINs with different numbers, but I don't know if this is possible for the same business.
2. I've noticed that the 24-month rule is not visible on the business card, but I didn't mention it in the text because I think the risk is pretty high to actively encourage it. It's more of an AYOR situation.
hello.
Do I have to have a self-employment tax number to open a business card?
We rent out our second floor and consider the rent we receive as income and file our taxes together, but I don't register as self-employed on IRS. The application asks for the tax number, but if I don't include it, will the card be declined?
If you don't have an EIN, we understand that you can use your SSN. Please use your name for the business name.
I opened the Ink Plus in 2016, switched to the Ink Cash a year later, and closed it in March 2019. I never received a sign-up bonus with the Ink Cash, so if I apply for a new card now, will I get a sign-up bonus?
I know it's possible, but I guess you'll have to do it at your own risk (sorry for the delayed response).
I applied it yesterday from your link,
I received a letter in my account this morning.
"We did not approve your request".
But!
After talking to the agent, everything went well and I was approved immediately.
Thank you, Mamo, as always.
Happy holidays!
Congratulations on your successful recon! Thanks for using the link, too.
How did you connect with an agent? If you have their number, please share it with us.
I signed up for one ink cash and it's still pending. I don't know when the ink cash signup was 75000.
I'm scared of the pandemic, I used to be a 100/24 team, but this year I barely opened my cards.
Thank you as always, Mamo, and I wish you a very happy holiday season.
I hope you got approved, and I hope you and your pooper have a great year.
It's currently 2/24, and I was approved for an inkcash bar today. Thanks to you, I was approved for a saree card 2 months ago, and this time I was approved for a credit line of $7k. I've been getting good info for years, and this is what I write back.
Congratulations on the approval and thanks for sharing your story.
hello.
Thanks for the great information as always. Like someone above, I report my rent as income to my IRA under my social security number, can I apply for a business card then?
We wish you a happy holiday season.
Sole proprietorship seems to work, but you'll have to make the final judgment.
I got it using your link and it's my first business card, but the spanning limit is really low, so I'm a little confused and feel like I'm back to when I first applied for the card lol.
Glad to hear you were approved. I guess the time of year makes the limits a bit more forgiving. Thanks for using the link.
The card that was supposed to arrive hasn't arrived in over 2 weeks, and I'm wondering if it's because of the UPS and USPS delays I've been hearing about lately .... I can only get a 4 digit ending number from the aprub email I received, but when I go into Chase, I don't see that number. I'm wondering if it's because they don't accept physical cards, or if they have a separate online for business ink. I need it to arrive soon so I can meet a BIG spend in early January and I'm starting to get impatient.
Why don't you call Chase and see if they have express shipping available?
And I understand that you need to create a separate ID for business accounts.
Thank you. I did as you advised and received the physical card today, but the credit limit is too low and I want to request an increase, but it asks for business income. In fact, it's a solo proprietorship, so it's too low and it's not a good number, but is it possible...
Let's get in touch.
My credit line is only $3000, so I had a long phone call with them to increase it to $7000, but I was notified by email the next day that they couldn't do it. ㅠㅠ
Wow, $3,000 is really low, and you're going to have a hard time filling that spend.
I don't see a referral link in your body certificate, is it just my blind eye?
