오늘 아침 그 새로부임했다는,  very strict marriott guy 라 불리던 독일계 미국인 새 GM 에게서 날라든 이메일.  - -;;

(숙박할 때 GM 이름은 이미 익히 몇 번 들어서, 이름만 보고 이메일 열기 전에 나 쬐금 긴장했쓰..... ㅋㅋ ) 

Dear xxxx,

 

Firstly, please allow me to apologize for the inconveniences you have experienced during your latest stay here at the Cairo Marriott Hotel.  I have received your e-mail, in which you have mentioned several valid points for being dissatisfied with our property.  It is obvious that we have fallen short of not only meeting your expectations, but also our own.

 

I assure you that I have personally conducted a full investigation, along with my top management team, regarding every point you have highlighted in your e-mail and I assure you that each point was handled by the respective Executive Committee Member and corrective actions have been immediately implemented.   

 

Ms. xxxxx, again, we are very sorry for the encountered problems; hoping that these incidents will not deter you from using our hotel facilities in the future.    Confidently, you would accept our apology and our offer of 30,000 points credit to your Marriott Rewards account, as a token from the hotel management for the inconvenience caused and to show our eagerness to keep you as our valued guest.  Looking forward to welcoming you back to the Cairo Marriott Palace.

숙박하는 동안 생과일 쥬스 츄르릅~ 츄르릅~ 하면서 F&B Dir. 아저씨랑 하하호호 ~ 하면서 다 해결하고 왔건만, 이 독일계 아저씨 왜 이리시는지 ......  - -;;

뽀인트로 숙박하면서 $100 Guest Compensation 현찰로 쳐묵,  

$100 어치 이상 JW Steakhouse 에서 쳐묵, 

30K 뽀인트 또 쳐묵? 

왠지 이젠 요주의 게스트 블랙리스트에 올라있을 듯.

[사족] 그 새로왔다는 GM 이 궁금해서 찾아봤더니, 코넬 출신이고, 여기 오기 전 바로 전에는 푸에르토리코 매리엇 쪽에서 있었군요.  인디아 쪽에도 꽤 오래 있었던 것으로 봐 뭐 이런 환경에는 익숙하신 분으로 사료됩니다. 왜 궁금했냐면 2011년 혁명 때 미국인 GM 이 줄행랑(응?) 친 이후로 다들 서로 카이로 안 오려고 ㅋㅋ 해서 GM 선정에 애로가 참 많았다고 들었거든요. GM 없이 호텔 굴러간지도 벌써 몇 년 되었고.  듣기로는 이 매리엇 궁궐 호텔이 revenue 로는 중동 내 2위라는, 매리엇 체인으로서는 상당히 중요한 호텔이라고 하더라구요. 이집트의 모든 궁궐 호텔이 소피텔 체인으로 들어간 상태에서, 수도에 있는 가장 중요한 궁궐 호텔이 매리엇 플래그쉽  (매리엇이 1982 년 인수하면서 궁궐 건물 양 옆으로 두 개 타워 세우면서 호텔이 되었죠) 아래에 있다는 상징적 의미도 크고. 하튼 새 GM 이 워싱턴에서 돈줄기(응?)를 좀 끌어와서리 전반적으로 renovation  을 좀한다니까 기대를 해봅니다.  :)
