얼마 전에 UA 마일리지로 유럽행 비행기표를 샀습니다. 세금은 사파이어 카드로 지불했구요. 비행기표를 100% 카드로 결제했을 경우에는 당연히 travel insurance가 제공된다고 알고 있었지만, 세금만 지불했을 경우에는 커버를 해주는 건지 아닌지 확실하지가 않아서 SM을 보내서 물어봤는데요. 마일리지로 표를 사고, 세금만 사파이어 카드로 지불한 경우에도 travel insurance를 제공한다네요. 데이타 포인트로 남겨둡니다.

Lost Luggage:

electronics. Coverage is in excess of the common carrier

Trip Cancellation / Trip Interruption:

cost of your passenger fare to your card. You may be
covered for reasonable expenses, such as meals and
lodging, which were necessarily incurred as the result of
the delay and not
provided by the common carrier or any other party free of

global trip delay protection benefit of my sapphire
preferred card.
I've purchased my United Airline tickets by redeeming UA
mileage and paying taxes and fees with my sapphire
preferred card. I am wondering if I am still protected by

cost of your passenger fare to your card." 이런 내용이 있어서 세금만 내더라도 혜택을 받을수있는거 같은데, 다른 개별 항목마다 전화번호가 있는거 보니, 혜택 가능여부는 조금씩 다른거 같습니다. Travel Accident Insurance 내용중 "... when you have charged passenger fare
ticket(s) to your card." 이부분은 저는 실 티켓비용이 지불되어야 한다고 해석했는데 다른분들은 어떠신지?
개별 항목마다 전화번호가 있지만, 사실 다 같은 번호예요. Chase에서 outside insuranc company로 아웃소싱을 하는 것 같구요. 제가 2014년에 lost baggage/delay claim을 했을 땐, Crawford&Company Inc라는 회사로 연결이 되어서 베네핏 받았어요.
