직접 Star Alliance에서 올해 안에 출시할 예정이라고 합니다.
어느 카드사일지 카드 베네핏이나 마일리지 사용법 등에 대한 디테일은 전혀 없지만 정말 출시된다면 정말 ㅎㄷㄷ 대박 사건이네요.
Star Alliance -- the largest of the three global airline groups -- is planning to offer a co-branded credit card that will allow a person to redeem points across all 26 members.
The card, to be launched later this year, will allow users to earn points via their spending, like a regular credit card, and then redeem those points via the frequent-flyer programs of any of the airlines, Star Alliance CEO Jeffrey Goh said at a briefing Thursday.

우와 대박이네요~!
신박한 기획인 것 같긴한데, 디테일이 나와봐야 할 것 같습니다.
지금도 스타얼라이언스 업그레이드라고 있지만 (예를 들어 에어캐나다 마일을 사용해서 돈주고 구입한 EVA 항공편 업그레이드 신청), 이 옵션을 실질적으로 사용하실 수 있는 분들은 극히 일부분이거든요.
다만, 소속사 전체에 1:1로 전환이 된다 뭐 이렇다면 이건 아주 좋은 선택지라고 해야 할 것 같습니다.

각 항공사의 anytime award 정도로 리딤션 밸류가 잡히지 않을까 하는 예상을 해보면 너무 불행회로일까요(...)
