2018: 오늘의 이집트 이야기

 

새해 첫 집에서 보내는 금요일 주말입니다. :)

 

그래서, 오늘 새해 처음으로 집근처 금요일 모스크 예배 방송 들었는데요. 흐미, 우리 이맘 아자씨 삘 받으셨나, 왜 저리 고래고래 ~ 소리를 지르지는지. 제 정신도 오락가락.. @.@...

(주말 아침부터 이거 아주 질색하는 외국 사람들도 많아서, 집 고를때 모스크 근처 어디에 있는지 이런것도 체크하고 그러는데, 전 갠적으로는 별로 상관 안 합니다만). 

 

해질녁에 또 모스크 예배 방송하는데, 저기 호텔 야외 카페에 앉아서 듣게 되노라면 (모스크 방송하는 동안 빠 음악은 모두 잠시 끕니다) 참 은은하고 명상시럽더니만,  한번은 다운타운 시내 한가운데서 택시 잡는데 사방팔방 미친듯이 울려대는 경적소리에, 모스크 방송까지 겹치니까, 그 온갖 소음에 정말 정신이 혼미하고, 혼을 쏙 ~ 빠지더군요.

 

 

 

쓸데없는 잡담은 그만하고... 본론 잡답(...)으로 들어가자면.. - -  (그래도 카테는 무려 정보-여행 ;; . =3=3=3)

 

 

심심풀이로 Quora Digest  받아보는데요 (주로 중동/마그레브 쪽). 질문은 참 단순,허탈한(?) 것들이 꽤 있어도, 재치있는 답변도 많아서 재밌게 보고 있어요. 하튼 최근에 받는 이집트와 관련해 몇몇 재밌었던/인상깊었던 것 공유해봐요.

Answer :  Once upon a time, on February 10th, 2015, Vladimir Putin visited Egypt. The Egyptian Orchestra obviously plays the anthem as he stands there all tall and proud, as it is his first official visit to the country.

So, if you got through the whole thing without cutting your ears off, congrats. Egyptians can be hella sarcastic, trust me, I would know, and they basically just know how to insult someone with humor is seems.

Either the band didn’t tune, or every section was playing it in a different key all at the same time. Needless to say, it sounds like absolute shit.

While we’re on the subject, here’s another story for you.

Once upon another time, on another day, (April 19th, 2016) President Hollande of France also visited Egypt. Need I explain this again? I think not, you can just hear it for yourself.

In short, I think these recordings basically sum up Egypt’s “hi, we’re Egypt and we don’t give a shit” attitude quite nicely.

 

 

 

 

 

Is Egypt going in the right direction?

 

 

It never happened in Egypt before, the news could show Egypt as an advancing country due to the projects being done by the president, but if you are one of the citizens you will suffer alot.

All over the streets now it is very common to see a whole family eating from garbage, the prices have doubled and the salary of workers are getting lower.

But if you stay away from the government’s buildings and go to see the civilians’ buildings and where they live, you will see this :

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Imagine, more than 80% of Egyptians live in streets like these and I'm one of them, yes I could be young and only a teenager, but I saw alot of things bigger than my age. I see my mother crying not being able to get the house’s needs and my father travelled to find a job in another country because teachers here are treated like garbage, they get 1400 EGP a month and chicken, just a kilogram of chicken is now worth more than 40 EGP, 1400 pounds are consumed in less than a week and we still don't finish the house’s needs.

Egypt was thrown out of the top 120 countries based on education system and it was never like that, schools look like this with more than 40 students in one class and 3 students in each desk.

 

 

 

 

 

Sexual Harassment and rape are now more common than ever and were never existent in Egypt until 21st century. It is now done publicly! You can see it everywhere.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

People here in Egypt are Literally suffering, really. You won't be able to imagine the situation here even if I explained it to you in details until you come here and live for at least a month. Poverty and suffering destroys anyone’s childhood and unluckily I was one of their victims and lost my childhood. We are living in a stress ball that is made out of iron and cannot be pressed.

Egypt’s hospitals now will make you die for free, an oldman was thrown last week in a hospital in a room full of garbage and it is a governmental hospital, later he was found dead while naked in the room they moved him to and abandoned him.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The services in Egypt are the worst, there was a fire 3 months ago in our street. A new car catched fire at dawn and it was about to explode, we called the fire station and they arrived 2 hours later after the fire was put our just extinguishing the smoke.

An ambulance arrives after 1-4 hours from the nearest hospital even if you had a heart attack and need immediate care, most cases are brought by volunteers who put the patience in their cars and drive them to the hospital but still cannot enter the patient until you fill up some papers and pay money first.

Last month an ambulance was cuffed by the police while taking a patient who needed emergency care because it parked in a no parking place while the police never cuffs normal cars.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cairo was once declared as the cleanest city in the world but now it is one of the worst, It usit to be called the second Paris but now it is called a graveyard.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Of course we should remember that there is more good than bad in Egypt and that the positive things exceed the negative ones, but to me, as long as these problems exist and are widespread then there is no progress done if you build a new city and leave the old ones as they were then calling it progressing unless you define progressing as building more buildings.
