레딧의 어떤 유저가 개악 되기전에 2020년 2월 예약을 하려다가 발견한 사항인데요.

보통 실제 체크인 날짜로 부터 30일 전까지 변경 또는 취소가 기능해야하는데, 예약 캔슬 policy가 March 4th 2019 deadline으로 찍혀 나욌다고 합니다. 

이게 어떤 특정 호텔들만 이렇게 나오는건지 아님 전체 호텔들이 다 이러는건지 확실하지 않습니다.

3/4/2019이 deadline으로 나오는게 사실이라면 숙박일 전에 캔슬을 하면 환불을 받지 못 한다는 뜻인데요..

뭐가 어떻게 되가고 있는건지.. 매리엇 참 난감하네요.. ㅠ

"I was going to book the The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort for Feb of 2020 and I noticed that the cancellation policy is now the March 4th 2019 deadline (it use to be up to 30 days prior to the stay). So if you cancel after tomorrow you will be charged the entire cost of the booking. Scary stuff"

 VFW 에서 확인한 결과 3/5 전에 Attach 된 숙박권에 대해서는 오리지날 예약과 rate을 Honor 해준다는 답변을 매리엇에서 받았다고 합니다

숙박에 필요한 포인트가 부족한 분들은 Points Advance  이용하여 미리 예약 걸어 놓으시고

컨펌 이메일이 따로 오지않으니 매리엇이 오리발 내미는것에 대비해 매리엇 계정에 로그인하셔서 confirmation을 본인에게 따로 보내놓으세요!!

 

There is no change. We included language in the category changes email encouraging members to order redemption certificates before March 5 as a suggestion to help members lock in the rate because having a certificate attached makes it easier to retrieve the original reservation and the original rate. While we can retrieve a reservation without a certificate attached, it is a more involved and time-consuming process requiring the help of a CEC agent.

레딧처닝님 께서 소식 전해주셔서 업데이트 합니다.

"메리엇 인사이더 에서 요런 글이 올라왔네요 

"Marriott announced that a new category eight level would be coming early in 2019 along with the addition of peak and off-peak seasons, which will be released later in the year. The new category eight level will be introduced in March 2019 along with our annual review of hotel categories; however, for now, these properties are placed in category seven and available for redemption at the lower category seven rate. We encourage you to book your reservation as soon as possible before category eight becomes active. As with all category changes, we are happy to honor the lower category rate though any significant changes to an existing reservation after the change will result in the higher rate being required."

significant change? 만 없으면 honor 해주겠다는 답변이 나왔어요!"

 

위에 언급된 any significant changes 의 기준이 무엇인지 아직 모르겠으나.. 일단 매리엇에서 한발 물러선거 같습니다.

사실을 확인 중이라고 하니 추가 소식 들리는대로 업데이트 하겠습니다.

 

"메리엇에서 몰래 points advance 를 바꿨다고 합니다

"Points Advance — Members can book stays when they do not have enough points if they earn or purchase the needed points at least 14 days prior to check-in. Members who wish to book a points advance redemption under the current Marriott Rewards and SPG award chart are encouraged to order redemption certificates before March 5 to lock in the rate. On March 5, redemption bookings are subject to the new unified program award chart"

 

즉 points advance로 예약 해도 3월 5일까지 certificate 을 오더 못하면 새 차감율이 적용 될꺼라고 하네요.

Points advance로 해도 3월 5일까지 모자란 포인트 못채우면 망하는겁니다 ㅜ"

 

 

2/8:

또 다시 변경되는 어워트 차트가 발표 되었습니다.

3/5 부터 변경 될 예정이니 잘 살펴 보시고 그 전에 미리 예약을 해놓는게 좋을거 같습니다. (특히 Cat 8로 변경되는 호텔들)

아마도 최종 변경이지 않을까 생각 되네요.
