그리고 궁금한 것이 초등학생 아이입니다. 문구는 다음과 같습니다.
You have submitted secondary evidence and/or a birth affidavit as proof of a birth record for the applicant. However, the evidence you have submitted is insufficient. Examples of acceptable secondary evidence may include, but is not limited to, church or school records listing your parents' names and your date of birth, hospital records of your birth, or other official records indicating a country and record of birth. If the document is in a language other than English, you must submit a copy of the foreign language document and a complete English translation.

아이 초등학교에 certificate of enrollment 를 요청할 계획입니다. 거기에 아이의 이름, 생년월일, 부모의 이름이 나와있기를 우선 바라고 있습니다. 거기에 birth record가 들어가있을지는 모르겠습니다. 한국 서류 콤보든 제3국 출생증명서든 아이 출생 기록이 나와있음에도 불구하고 RFE 가 나온 것은 왜일까요? 이 RFE에 어찌 대응해야 할까요?
제 3국 출생이시면 한국이 아니라 state.gov사이트의 제 3국의 birth certificate document라고 나와있는 걸 입수방법부터 문서 제목까지 그대로 따라하셔야 합니다. 물론 심사관이 제3국 출생증명서를 못 보고 넘어갔을 수도 있습니다.
RFE 내용을 보고 처음에 들었던 생각은 한국 문서만 보고 제 3국의 출생증명서를 못본 것이 아닌가 생각이 들더라구요. 이제 와서 생각해보면 한국 서류 (기본+가족관계)는 괜히 내서 헷갈리게 한 것이 아닌가 하는 생각이 드네요. 입수방법은 서류는 출생 신고했던 해당 시청에서 발급 받은 문서입니다. 제목은 Document name을 그대로 제 서류에 있는대로 영어로 바꿔서 Acte de Naissance \n copie integrale -> Birth certificate \n Full copy 로 입력했구요.
