요새 Tools of Titans에 꽂혀서 This is how I work.

Interesting to see Brian here from a life-hacking perspective.
I’m not sure there’s much takeaway from him - basically buying up other bloggers, getting non-experienced “points” kids from wealthy backgrounds a cushy gig (read: cheap labor), or having an executive assistant handle everything for him - is really useful in a “how I work”/relatibility sense.
The miles-game is already an LGBTQ-friendly ecosystem, as the hospitality industry has historically been supportive and in some ways even progressive on this front. His supporting that community isn’t a reach. Likewise for Northeastern whites whose families made money in the financial industry. His background there does make more sense in the tone of his blog and his writers.
I’d be more curious how he works to support communities where credit both currently and historically has been a limiting factor. For him it’s a game. For them it’s whether they have a roof over their heads or a car to get to work.
Is he doing anything to make an inroads into helping communities under-represented in leisure-travel? Any insight on how - after years maligning Marriott’s underwhelming loyalty program - he did an astonishingly and unexplainable pro-Marriott about-face after the gutting of SPG (while other bloggers continued to point out the chaos and pain points of former SPG loyalists)? Or how his ongoing support of the ME3 - knowing their terrible labor practices - meshes with him “supporting people’s rights” across the globe? How about after lauding of Cathay Pacific’s people and service for years, his deafening silence on them firing protesters and ousting their first successful CEO in years?
Yeah. Thought not.
At least other travel bloggers seem to have a semblance of self-awareness of how privileged they are to be able to do what they can. He categorically refuses to accept that he gets or has gotten preferential treatment in his blogging, and that his blog has or is used as a marketing tool for the hospitality industry giants.
Guess that VC money is too sweet eh?
